Who in Ontario offers the service anymore? I just called Leaf Racewear, and they do not reweb belts anymore. They'll offer $40 to buy back your 'old, hardly ever used' camlock belts "and throw them out for you". RRRrrrriiiiight.
Anybody have camlock belts rewebbed recently? I refuse to pay to buy a brand new cam lock belt system when my old one is hardly even used.

Rob, Check with Joe Chen. He has a guy (in B.C I think) that does rewebbing.

Bob McCallum (BEMC pres.) told me of a place in Toronto that rewebs but due to old age I can't remember.

I've read on a website that only the original manufacturer of the restraint system is allowed to re-web and then recertify the assembly.
I've sent an e-mail to SFI to get clarification since I too have an old cam-lock type system that i would prefer to re-web instead of replace.

Be aware that SFI is "owned & operated" by SEMA, the same people that make the seatbelts. It's like asking Rothmans if smoking causes cancer , the answer you get may be biased.

That's what the folks @ CSC racing think too. So, if you have expired Leaf harnesses, you likely can't get it rewebbed. Sell them to the Solo2 crowd, I'm sure you can get more than 40$ for them.

My old cam-lock is an RJS unit. I've e-mailed them to see if they offer re-webbing service.
I'm still waiting for replys.

It's a tidy little family compact that SEMA and SFI have created all in the name of safety . SFI (and therefore SEMA) have made significant inroads at the SCCA that should garner SEMA members very rosie sales in the future.
Lets hope this group doesn't move north.

Here is the official response from RJS:
Yes, we do re-web our belts.
The cost is $49.00.
Ship the complete set back to us pre-paid with a money order or with your
Visa/Master Card numbers.
We will check all the hardware, re-web(re-certify) and pay for the shipping
cost back to you.
Put a note inside with your name, return shipping address and a daytime
telephone number.
On the outside of box please put RE-WEB DEPT.
Regards,
Bob Farmer
