Hi all,
I can't find an email address for Paul Dykstra.
He is the competitor that drives that beautiful "ITS NOT ORANGE" Shell sponsored Fiat X1/9 in Solo1.
I don't know if he competed in 2003, but if anyone still keeps in touch with him, please forward me his email address, or forward mine to him.
I wanted to ask him a few questions and just keep in touch.
THANKS!!!

Myron,i have been involved with solo 1 for the past 5 years and have never seen another x/19 outside of yours.
The name however, rings a bell......maybe he got smart and bought a different race car :D

haha, nice Alex!!!
Does your car do 1:12 around SMP pro circuit!?!? remember a X1/9 is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated SINGLE overhead cam NON cross-flow engine!! ;)
Well, my car doesn't do 1:12s, but Louie Solarino's X1/9 certainly does, IN TRAFFIC!! hehehe.
Anyhow, indeed Paul has been out, year 2000 was the year he and I did the most amount of events together and he continued in 2001, where I went off into regionals.
He towed his car with a Volvo 740 Turbo!!, this was still when John Smeets beautiful Tiga was still red, I think he repainted it in 2001??! Can't remember.
X1/9s make terrific race cars!!!!!!! hahaha, in G-production class in SCCA (1300cc capacity for X1/9!!!), Tom Reichenbach dominated the run-offs for many years, I think he did a 2nd place due to a spin in 2001 right behind a Fiat Spider! (go Fiat!!). Goes to show you the mighty grunt a little short stroke 1300 can make! All this on a SINGLE carb!!!!
Anyhow, if you ask any X1/9 owner, they'll all say the same thing, the X1/9 is the best car in the world!! hehe, I own three of them.
Paul Dykstra owned a X1/9 that belonged to RON FELLOWS Sr (Ron's dad!).
If I can dig up a picture of Paul's car, maybe it will jog someone's memory?!? I forget what club he belonged to.
Hey!! No X1/9 flames! hahaha
Even the main man "L'Ingegnere" (The Engineer in Italian) Franco A, responsible for designing the body of the Multimatic Ford Probe owns a X1/9

Hi Myron
Try calling Steve Scala at the CASC office (416) 667 9500.
I though you were going to get a FF1600 rather than another X1/9??

Hi John,
Heheh, no not FF1600, Formula Four.
Problem is, I can't make up my mind!!!!!!!
I love X1/9s, and I'll always have one, hey!! and who said I can only have one race car? hehehe.
I think we both should get FF1600s, get Chris into one, and lets go racing!
I LOVE Formula Fours, overall, it is an inexpensive approach at going super fast, plus the power to weight ratio is fantastic. I like winged cars as well. The sequential shifter isn't a bad idea either, but I suppose there is no reverse in a Formula Four!!
Like I said John, I love X1/9s (or any Italian car for that matter), after all, someone has to be different!

Formula Fours are pretty fast on the straight but are slower than FF1600 in the corners because they haven't been developed over many years of tough competition(eg. in the U.K Van Dieman and other manufacturers develop new FF1600 cars every year while the Formula four cars are based on a 30-35 year old design). FF1600 has much more competition of similar cars, where you have to improve or you fall by the wayside, while FFour is only recognized in Ontario with very few cars in the races. Why bother to spend the $$ if there is very little competition to prove and improve your driving skill??
I know FFours are cheaper to purchase, but racing costs would be the same or higher (because of tempremental engines), plus of course with FF1600 you always have competitors to run with.
