Hoosiers new tire:

Same compound, different belt (now steel).

According to them, it has the same good stickiness with alot better wear.

Khumo's new tire: Only available in current sizes found on their website and they have "no idea" when they will be arriving with my sizing.

I find this very funny because they seemed to have left out the most popular sizing especially when we talk autox.

how does the belt in the tire affect wear?

So the Hoosiers won't be significantly lighter than all other tires anymore?

I think when the tire has a stronger belt it will flex less side to side which will reduce wear.
I've never run a hoosier, but I understand they eat up the corners of the tire??

just because its a steel belt doesnt have to mean it will become very heavy.

yes logan, this is the way i understand it.

figure halfway between the old hoosier and old kumho....

kumho did the same thing.. only backwards!!!

Therefore...
Weight difference is negligable!
