I have a DOHC Neon I plan to race in Solo 1 this year. The DOHC Neons suffer from broken rockers due to aerated oil getting into the lash adjusters during extended periods of driving the shit out of it. There is a simple fix which is to change the lash adjusters to ones with an air bleed hole and stronger rockers (used in the PT Cruiser). Would this change cost me a point? There is no performance gain, this is just a fix to an engineering screw up and these would have been incorporated into the new Neon if it still used the DOHC motor.I don't know if the part numbers have been superceded in Canada yet but I have heard they are in the States. Last year I tried to order the PT Cruiser parts, Chrysler sent me the stock Neon parts saying the part #'s I had orderd were temporarily superceded due to a shortage. As it stands I'm on the edge of CSP, another point and it will force me into CSP from CSS2.
