Grand Prix Legends?

I would be up some challenges in that game. Probably the hardest sim to learn out there and the most realistic too.

Based on the 1967 grandprix series with all 6 cars simulated differently
Oh and the RING is awesome....

I read somewhere recently that GPL is still widely considered one of the best, if not the best, racing sim out there even though it's more than a few years old now. I'll have to see if I can find a copy for sale in the 'used' bin at EB or Microplay...

Krispy swears by NetKar. I gave it a try and found it really, um, odd. Couldn't get into it at all. I guess I'm used to the arcade style Gran Turismo stuff :D

Consistent GPL player here and if anyone else would be interested I have a full copy they may evaluate that's only 70megs zipped. All the extra addons you'll have to get yourself but it's well worth it. Awesome sim.

I have a cracked copy of GPL :o is the steering super sensitive or is it just me?

I have about ~5deg of wheel movement (2.5 each way) for lock to lock

I have managed to get around Mosport once or twice without spinning:rolleyes:

are you using a wheel and pedal?
the steering isn't too bad once you get the hang of it.

I managed the ring in 909 once in an eagle,,,,,,, that track is awesome

Used too play it, but not for a long time and really don't have the need or time to get back into it. When you step into modern sims let me know. :p
Think i was down to low 1:20's around Mosport, i really can't remember, i was a few secounds behind the World Record set by a alian.


Netkar.......its fine but just haven't really played it in a long time except for one race with Rega a few weeks back.

Try Nascar 2003 with the Transam mod......pretty good however i haven't really put alot of time into it since i can't race online[damn pirate version]. Maybe when the price drops i'll buy it..........sheesh PS, this is the latest version of the GPL phsyics engine........by far the best version too.......

The ring is such an amazing track. I've managed to be consistently under 8:15 with the Lotus around there and have had a couple sub 8 minute laps of wonder.

I have a copy of Nascar 2003... I'll have to give that transam mod a try.

So are we gonna get together for a few races of somthing here?

I have a copy that I've played a bit but not enough to get good at it. Art imitating life I guess.

I have spent far more time surfing the web (trying to figure out which patches I need to get the top of the line graphics etc) than I have actually learning to drive. Once again an extremely accurate simulation of my Solo II career.
