Paul Massingberd sent me the following info on a new "Mini" Series they are planning to run for their own "championship" combined with the GTA,B,C,D Sprint Race.. Sounds like a great way to get a bunch of great cars out to play. As BEMC Orginizer I say bring them on! Maybe the GTD guys better invest in bigger mirrors. If you need more info Pauls Number is at the bottom.

Bruce.

Information Meeting

Tuesday February 24/04 7PM Sharp!
Held at Legendary Motorcar Company, Fifth Line Milton, ON.
Take 401 west of Toronto exit James Snow pkwy go north to Steeles Ave turn right take your first left Fifth Line go north ¼ mi on your left you can’t miss it. All Welcome

In the fall of 2002 a group of regional road racers got together to discuss the status of road racing in Ontario. With the demise of Canada GT Challenge & Club racing sprints having low turn out we discussed ways of improving racing for those of us that wanted to race as a hobby. We then held a meeting at Legendary Motor Car expecting 5-10 people; we were surprised that close to 30 people attended. After a lot of discussion three main points stood out;
1. There is a great passion for racing North American V8 cars and they greatly range in horsepower and budgets
2. On average most drivers expect to do about 4 races with most of us having families, businesses etc. it is difficult to commit to a full series.
3. Fun. It’s why most of us race. Bragging rights, spirited battles, bench racing camaraderie etc.
With all this great talk why did nothing happen? Two reasons 1. The Touring GT was just gearing up and we didn’t want to create a division. 2. To create a series it requires a big commitment in terms of money, volunteers etc. Realistically we just want to race and few are prepared to make a big commitment ,however after having said this there is still the overwhelming passion to enhance regional road racing. This has led to the Puresport GT V8 Sprints.

Our goals are simple ,to create a stable format for the V8 racer, to attract as many racers possible by keeping costs down and to have the most fun in road racing of any series!
We hope you will join us .
Sincerely,

Paul Massingberd

What does 90% original chassis mean?

For the slowest class 3100 lb with driver seems pretty low wgt for a 4 th gen F body especially with "90% original chassis". Did you consider using Wgt /hp ranges? I think Nasa in their Americon Iron class use this ( Correct me if I am wrong as it is possible that it is the SCCA's American Sedan that uses wgt/hp ratings, I always get those 2 mixed up)
