Fellow racers, volunteers and officials,
As the current Vice President of CASC-OR, I am in the process of compiling a marketing plan for 2012 and beyond for our great organization and I'd like your input.

I welcome your ideas and opinions on how the CASC-OR should market itself to both within and outside the sanctioned competition arena of our hobby/sport.

The organization needs to grow in terms of increasing participation in the sport in general and more specifically in event entries across the board from Ice Racing right up to Regional road racing and everything in between.

I want this plan to have been created from a bottom up process of input so that it truly represents the constituents and that it forms the basis for a series of marketing activations in 2012 that will focus on generating the result of growing participation in CASC-OR sanctioned events in the short term and as a longer term trend. I'm particularly interested in why you compete and/or volunteer and what keeps you coming back. We want to use your experiences to appeal to prospective participants.

So here you go; your ideas and comments are invited. Please keep the input to constructive criticism and to ideas that you think will attract into our family some of the many thousands of enthusiasts across Ontario that currently don't compete or volunteer in any one of our official Divisions.

The Time Attack forum currently has a poll going of a similar nature and the resulting commentary on the topic is a great insight into what it is that provides the enjoyment and satisfaction we derive from participation.
