Mosport DDT Autocross/Lapping $125.00 - Sunday Nov 20th

Run by BMWCCA-Trillium Chapter (non-BMW's welcome). We will be running a Solo 1 (on racetrack rather than Solo 2 in a parking lot) event on the Mosport DDT.

When: Sunday November, 20th (8:00am-5:00pm). It is imperative that all participants arrive before 8:00am as their will be a mandatory safety and driver meeting for all participants! Please arrive early to allow sufficient time to prepare your car for the event and so on.

Cost: $100.00 incl. HST for members, $125.00 incl. HST for non-members. Lunch and drinks will be included as the cafeteria will not be open. Bring snacks for later in case you get the munchies. Registration will be on-line via our website. It will be available soon. As an added bonus, all participants will be invited to remain after the last timed run has completed to take part in open lapping until 5pm when the track shuts down. Anyone not paying due diligence to rules set forth at the drivers meeting will be expelled from the event with no refund.

All of the same rules apply as the Solo 2 events with some minor changes. Helmets are mandatory (loaner available). There will be cones on track creating obstacles. Each cone/gate that gets hit will add a 2 second penalty to your time. If you miss a gate, there will be there a 5 second penalty added to your time as we will be not be able to double back. If you go off track and damage your car there is no insurance coverage as this is a competition event. If you damage property at Mosport you are required to cover the cost of the damages incurred there. There will be an EMS attendant at the track. As this event is taking place in late November please dress and prepare accordingly for the environment. Remember, there is no such thing as bad weather for a track day, just inappropriate attire!

Its my experience that you can be competitive in autocross is bone stock cars, not to mention have a blast in any car, don't miss out on this event cause your usual car may be dismantled or away for the season.

Wicked chance to show off your skills and get some lapping in!

Still working on getting the day off, I have been racing the last 3 season with the Trillium BMW Club and the events are always top notch, and a great group of people are always at the events

When does the first car get on the track?

Just a quick reminder (since the weather is holding up very nicely for this time of year) there's a BMW Club of Canada Solo1 autocross @Mosport DDT this Sunday. If all goes as planned, 1st car on track should be around 10am. Plenty of time to prep your car IMO. Weather is calling for a bomby 14C with slight (40%) chance of showers.

Although I would greatly appreciate you letting me know you're coming in advance so I have an idea about numbers, you can show up tomorrow am. Registration is at 8am in the HEATED portable! First car should be on track at 9am if all goes as planned. Once everyone has 5 timed runs, we'll take a short break while the track is being reset, and lapping will start soon afterwards. There is a catered lunch incl. If you are coming 100% please email me your full name, address, phone number, drivers license number and type of car you'll be driving. I was running a new setup so things were a bit hairy, especially in the wet. Got a lot better when it dried up though.

Everyone seems to have fun and brought their car home intact.
I was just helping with my daughter and her boyfriend,
mind you , it got cold the last few hours.
For a bigger pucker factor, come to BMW school at the big track next April.
