Hi have to ask you vintage racing people was at my Dr's today and brought up the fact that I volunteer at races at Mosport and he said he raced a Volvo a few years ago with VARAC. His name is DR. Paul Cary form Cambridge anyone know of this seemed to have good knowledge of Mosport so had to ask.:)

Yes I know that car . I built it! It came from a wrecking yard with over 200,000miles on it in 1989. After a 2 or 3 year "build" I raced the car in Vintage events with some success (class win first time out) but never had the time or $ to develop the car properly . I last raced it at Mosport in 1982 got it down to1:50 then sold the car to Dr. Carey a friend & customer of my shop in Cambridge .The next year 1983? the car came "unglued" in corner 4 with Paul at the wheel and suffered front end damage. I lost track of the car then but found it several years ago at the Festval being driven by Brian Hunter friend of Ian Lok. Brian ran the car for a couple of years then it went to Time Warp Racing ( before I knew about it) then went to John Greenwood . John offered the car for sale as a (turn key budget racer) and it went ,I think ,to someone in Ottawa and has vanished from the face of the earth. To bad really as this car had the potential to give Ian Lok's car some serious 122 competition.I have the photo album detailing the build to back up this story. Colin :D

Thanks Colin, coming from a Sprite guy it helps since that is what my Dad raced at Mosport, Harewood etc back in the day.

I am always suspicious of anyone that I do not expect to be in the sport since my family and I have been involved for a long time.

Actually Dad stood by and I did all the work LOL ( I am Colin's Son) . Dad you might want to check your dates. WE restored that car in the 90's not the 80's.

"We" restored it .... did "we" ????! You are right about the dates though. I last raced that car in 1992 and sold it to Dr. Carey in 1993:rolleyes::p.
