can anyone tell me how much better the kumho victroracer over than falken azeins in 205/50/15? only for solo2 use, planning to go at least 15 events and i have a 2001 civic, how long will the victroracer last with only solo2 use?

thanks!!!

I might be wrong but I believe that's the exact two tires that Grassroots motorsports tested to compare R-Comp to Performance Street. The Victoracer averaged 2 seconds quicker on a 60 second course. Tested by long time SCCA SOLO2ers in their cars to make it representative.

Cheers,

Paul

That jives with what I've seen.

It was actually more like 2 seconds on a 40 second course(on only one car to keep things equal)-big difference between the 2.
If your only going to use them for autox and no street driving then spend the extra cash and go with the r-tires,you'll regret it if you don't(trust me-been there done that).

Nope-hows that for a short answer?Seriously they might last that long if you drive like a girl(not like my wife though-she's as hard on 'em as I am! )or your car is easy on tires.
It might be that you'll run out of grip before you run out of tread however with that many heat cycles.

Mine lasted the season last year (barely). The problem with Kumhos isn't the wear, it's the heat cyclying. You will find they get hard and uncomeptative at the last few events before they are toast.

I did approx. 16 events last year with my R's. With lapping day's anded I might need two sets this year.

I've run 2 seasons on my Kumhos, and I plan on running a third. Yes, they're uncompetitive, but I couldn't win when they were new anyways! My car also weighs only 2300 lbs too.

I may have to buy new tires mid-season, or if I get in on a tire deal, maybe I'll have a fresh set ready for King of the Hill :D
