I would just like to thank the Thunder Bay Autosport Club and Russ Bond for putting on such an amazing event in Thunder Bay this past weekend. The course was amazing (7 turns, some 5th gear left handers) the people were great and the competition was amazing. I would urge any of you guys to try to make it up there next year.

Its a shame that our ice race season ran into the raindates otherwise I'm sure there would have been some of us come up and attend.

Sounds like a great event, how did the celebrity drivers do?

5th gear left handers!! Wow! What kind of top speeds were you reaching?

Please feel free to elaborate on the event, I'm sure you have everyones undivided attention. :)

Well I went up there to represent the magazine (Inside Track) Russ Bond was there, Robin Buck, Bill Brack, Dan Di Leo, AAron DeHeus, Frank Liauni, Mike Goodyear, Jim and Jeff Lepcevich, Ashley Taws, Matt Champagne, Edwin, Rene Fagnan, Ugo Provencher. There is more I'm sure, and I'm sorry to forget you.

Anyway, I was driving a studded Rabbit w/ like 180hp. I saw just over 100MPH on the back straight. There was a 270hp Scirocco with a 6 speed, an AWD 400hp Turbo talon etc. These guys take the sport to a whole nother level.

Some of the "pros" did amazing, some like me were mid pack, but all had an amazing time. I urge anyone that likes cars in general should go. It's like a road course on ice, simply amazing.

I'd like to thank all the Pro's for comming up here to T-Bay. I wish we had more ice and a little less slush, but there's no controlling the weather. It was nice watching you guys put those cars through their paces, proving it's not the car but the driver that makes the difference in a race.

I'm hoping to have some pictures and video available in the next couple of weeks for everyone to see. In the meatime, if anyone wants to check out a ton of pictures from this season, go to this page http://www.iceracingthunderbay.com/2004bw.htm . It contains about 40'ish contact sheets of photos taken by our "Offical Photographer".

Once again, thanks.....and I can't wait to see everyone again next year.
