Last weekend (March 28) was the second race of the Grand Am Cup series, this time at Homestead, which is just south of Miami. CASC members were there, including the Compass360 Racing team. Crew Chief Ian McQuillan and I (as one of the drivers) took our BMW Z3 Coupe to a top-10 finish in class, ending up 19th overall out of 55 cars!
It's an excellent result that proves our car (and our modestly-funded team) has what it takes to run with the big-budget crews in the series.
Check out my race report, with a bunch of photos, at http://www.compass360.com/racing
Our next race is two weeks from now in Phoenix, which will also be televised on SPEED (tape-delayed on April 18 at 6:00 PM).

Karl - great results and reporting - congrats!
while you are enjoying some other great tracks, are you planning to come out to play at mosport as well so we can see that BMW up close?

The car is a M Coupe? is it not? Great result, keep it going.

We expect to have the car at most of the Fridays before the regional weekends, as well as assorted Dexter days and the like. As for racing, my plan is to run the full season of Grand Am Cup, which rules out and CASC weekends, as GAC runs about one weekend every month for the whole year.
I am going to pick up the car at its home in PA after the race in Phoenix. After that, Ian McQuillan at Boxer Autosport will have it at his place to be prepared for the Tremblant race in May. If you're at Mosport on the Fridays in April and May, you'll see the car.
I look forward to learning what it's really like in a few weeks! ;-)

PS - Yes, the Z3 Coupe, with a 2.8L engine, was available in most markets other than Canada. If it had the M3 engine, it would be moved up to GS class in Grand Am Cup.

Karl thanks for the great report on your 10th place finish. I will be watching the Phenix race and best of luck! Keep it on the track and finish the best you can. Doug V
