Solo 1 Scoring

I think I've got too much time on my hands as I wait for my first Solo event. This is my rookie year, and due to an annual family event I've missed the first weekend of the year at Mosport.

That hasn't stopped me from pouring over the results and making a couple of complicated observations.

I'll be in B2 Stock, but there was only one car running in that group, so I'll be limited to 95 or 97.5 points unless I'd score higher than if I was in BSS2 (comparing my stock vehicle's time to the more prepped car's times).

So, if there continues to be only one or two cars in my class, but I'm competitive with the SS2 class times, and get lumped in with them for the purpose of the points calculation, then I could invest in the 4 prep points and officially move up to SS2 - and hopefully be able to go a bit faster - and score even more points!

Okay, so now I need to figure out where to spend the 4 points (and the associated $$), and convince the family that it is money well spent.

Of course, this assumes that my rookie times will be within 95 or 97.5% of the SS2 times (wish me luck). Guess we'll have to see how the season progresses, and if I'm close, I can start saving.:D

Hi Rob, I am a novice also. If I were you I'd talk to the other competitors who are running the same type of car, they are probably a good source of information. My choice would be the mods you get for free (no points) a cold air intake, an underdrive pulley, shocks and then I would spend the 4 points on springs, non stock alignment and a stiffer anti-roll bar ( or header if the stock bars are OK).
