Wife bought me a 6 point harness. LEAF

Do the 2 front belts attach to the lap bolting points of the orginal seat belts or can I mount then at the front seat mounting points?

She bought you a harness? She's a keeper!

Seriously, the two front belts (anti submarine belts) should mount to the front not the side of the seat. Ideally, you would put anchor bolts right into the floor but most people mount them to the front bolts on the seat rails.

Yes she bought me actually a seat to, OMP Seat plus Lealf 6 point .

She is a keeper all right.

Got them both from sponser CSC.

I was going to mount them at the front seat mounts but thought that was not legal.
The instructions say to mount it with the lap belt mount where the orignal seat belt mounted, but they were not long enough.

We called CSC back and Leaf is going to make a longer one for me by Fri, just in time for lapping day.

I put metal barstock bolted to the front seat mounting bolts in and mounted the belt to it.

When you have a stock seat and belt and the roof comes down from a roll over ect , your body and head has a place to go sort of.

With a racing harness your body can't move near as much, so if the roof comes in your right there. Thats why I didnt put in the harness till I had a decent rollbar. Though lots of people u have harnesses and dont have rollover protection.

When moint the "anti submarine belt" remember that in an upright seating position it's job isn't really to prevent submarining. A tight lap belt will do that. The job of the crotch belt is to keep the lap belt from riding up when the shoulder straps are pulled tight in a crash. So the crotch strap should be as straigh up and down as possible. The front of the seat is better than the sides, but a hole straight down is much better.

Thanks Herb and Marsh, your both right.
I no i should not use the 6 point without a roll cage and the mounting point strait down is better.
I don`t have enough time befor Fri lapping and then event 3 and 4 this weekend.
The reason my wife bought them was because last lapping and event 1 and 2 i killed my back trying to stay in my seat, my back got so sore that i had to pull out of event 2. boooooo

LOL i was going to rap a belt around my body and the seat to help hold me .
Then birthday came on Mon and she gave me the belt, and i new i would not have time to weld a floor brace in time for this weekend. Smile then i went out to the car and WOW there was a OMP seat in my car.

Now if i can just get some R tires so you guys don`t make me look to bad. smile
