Just got around to finalizing my race report from Phoenix, and have built a new site around the first three (of ten) that I hope to write this year.

Lots of pictures, too. It was nice being back with the the big boys from the Rolex series. We got some good TV coverage; unfortunately some of it was when our team-mates' (in a 330i) blew their engine. We did well and finished the race mid-pack.

Check http://www.compass360.com/racing/2004/phoenix for the full report.

I am going to Philly to pick up the car this weekend and hope to have it out for next Friday's test day. Look forward to seeing you there.

Good Job Karl. I watched the race and I especially liked the footage in the last 3min of you locking up and sliding up the banking.

Yeah, that was an interesting corner. I blew a wheel bearing just after coming off the banking, which caused the ABS to shut down. In corner 1 and Phoenix, you are flat on the gas until just by the pit exit when you haul on the brakes. When I did that, the fronts locked up and I sailed over the grass onto the far banking. It doesn't look like it on TV, but the wall looked really close when I was in the car!

Just goes to show how awesome the ABS is in the non-Motec BMWs. You can see how late Zach Arnold (in the blue 330i, our other team car) was able to brake in the early going before they blew there engine.
