Any recommendations for shop in mississauga that is legit and honest. Looking for 3 inch in and out catalyic converter that needs to be custom welded and have flanges fabricated to fit where a presilencer used to be.

Contact info, buisness address are helpful.

Stores in mind are:
Hot rod scots
Zoro
Brullen in Scarborough... though i would rather find a place in mississauga

thanks

they put a CAT in my car.. shop'd around (over 9yrs ago... wow time flys) their pricing was very good, and had no problems
with the install.

they used random technolgy cats http://www.randomtechnology.com/

but i'm not sure if they still use them

I've had no problems with their work, and would use them again.

btw I have also had work done at a shop in scarb (danforth and kenedy area) and would NOT go back there.

the shop i'm talking about... the owner is super nice to get your business, but if you have problems after (supposed to be lifetime warranty) he'll try to jam you for any work "not covered" by the warranty... just my experience

im not sure what you mean by legit and honest for an exhaust shop.

if the prices are good, the materials they use are good.. then its all up to the guy(s) doing the cuts and welds to make it a good installation.

just my take

I got a 3" Random cat from Optional Performance in Thornhill. That experience was actually kind of painful. I drove down to find that the part they had in stock was not the one I asked for and that they claimed was in stock. It took them forever to get the right one.

That aside, I have a Turbo II with a custom 3" down pipe, the 3" cat and an RB 3" Y-pipe and mufflers. FYI it passes emissions and sounds really good.

A word of warning - boost creep is a problem unless you port the wastegate. Spikes to 14 psi are really bad, and be particularly careful on cold days and at night (fuel pump voltage may be lower when the headlights are on). A fuel-cut controller will be required to prevent fuel cut but introduces problems of its own. 2 engines later I am speaking from experience.

Are you contemplating Solo I? Another RX-7 would be a good thing.

i'm trying to get into soloI this year, but it looks like it i may not.

I've got all the fuel i need including piggy back fuel computer, FCD, 680cc secondary injectors and walboro hi flow fuel pump.

I'm looking for a cat to replace the racing beat full turbo back exhaust system's presilencer so i can pass e-test.

Glad to hear you have fuel under control.

My only other words of wisdom are make sure the car is well warmed up (as in a good drive) and not just warm before the e-test. You probably know this anyway. I didn't appreciate the difference between warm and warmed up and it took me 2 tries to pass with no changes to the car.

well dropped off the presilencer off at master performance in brampton. Ended up being a little bit more then expected. Magnaflow 3 inch in and out with split air, custom flanges, SS tubing to make it the same dimension as the racing beat presilencer is expected to be 400 even final.

Magnaflow cat was 200
piping was 20
flanges were 8 a peice
labour was 100 bucks depends on if he takes an hour or two since he needs to make a jig from the existing presilencer.

Damn.

Maybe i should've gotten a crappy catco 3 inch cat off ebay for 40 USD.

Oh well... i want my car back on the road.

Should've taken the welding courses at St. Lawrence collage, did the flanges on the Queen's university CNC mill, raided the school's supplies for 3 inch SS piping, bought the welder a 24 of canadian and be 300 richer.

Too bad I saw this too late.

Gordie at ProComp does my exhaust work and he just did my buddies car a few monthes ago. He does very nice work.

It was $400 for a full dual exhaust in 2.5" pipe with twin walker high flow cats, dynomax race bullet mufflers, and chome 3" megaphone tips. This was off of shorty headers also.

Cheers!

400 bucks for a stainless custom cat back system??

that seems pretty reasonable to me!?!?!?!?

last question?

-did they do what you wanted?
-did they provide the service you wanted??

no 400 just for the catalyic converter, they seemed very accomedating. Of corse they did, since they were having a 400 dollar potential sale. Oh well...
