Any thoughts on these tires? I'm searching for a 13" rim fitment for SOLOII - Kumho's appear to be completely unavailable in the 235/45-13 size. :( Yoko has a 215/50-13 available, which will work with my 8" wide rims.

Given my lack of experience, and current car setup, I can't justify moving to Hoosiers.

Any experience with the new Avon R compounds? Those are available in a 13", 225mm size, but I've read very little about them.

Cheers!

Jeff

They are good for cold and wet days. Not as good on warm dry days.

I have a set of 32R's(sc)and yes they are the tire of choice when its cold and or wet.
I have 185's(only intended to be used in the wet)and did use them in the dry, found them to have perfectly acceptable grip levels-granted not quite as sticky as the khumo's or hoosier's.
If your a novice you should find the yok's just fine, certainly far grippier than any street tire you could run.
