Run times should be up around noon today.

Due to the fact that the printer and paper weren't very happy about operating in the conditions that we faced yesterday, only the ftd's were printed off. I apologize!

Also the points may take a day or two to get worked out..... stay tuned in right here for further information!

Thanks to Yvan, for getting the results posted so quickly (he did say they would be up by noon and they were up before 10....)

As I said in the previous post, Due to the fact that the printer and paper weren't very happy about operating in the conditions that we faced yesterday, only the ftd's were printed off at the event.

Event # 1 of the CASC-OR 2004 Mobil 1 Autoslalom Championship Series Sponsored by Williams Performance Friction happened yesterday, May 2nd at Ontario Place in beautiful downtown Toronto despite questionable weather.

The run times, sorted by class and fastest times from the day from yesterday's event have been posted in the 2004 Event Results Section (http://www.solo2ontario.com/events/2004results.php) .

I think the big thanks needs to go to Tony Kloosterman for taking care of the series registration and series registered people.

A big thanks goes out to all of the HADA people who ran the event, and specifically all the people who marshalled all day in the rain and cold so competitors didn't have to.

Considering the weather, it was a great start to the 2004 season. 86 brave souls came out, including a couple of competitors from the states. Here's hoping event # 2, hosted by St. Lac., at Picton Airport on May 30th has a little better weather (ok a lot better weather).

A big thanks to all of the series sponsors; Mobil 1, Williams Performance Friction, Wheel & Tire Zone, Mad Macs Communications, Tsunami Technology Group Inc, Reaction Grafix, Both Feet In Performance Driving and CG-Lock for their support.

Nope. I was significantly slower on my last run. Three was the only half-assed decent one I had. Lucked out! :)

But I thought my run went well! I was expecting it to be a 55 something closing the gap a little, but instead I barely held on to second and got crushed on percentage. :(

on my fifth run, I didn't realize until part way into the run that my side windows were fogged up. It turns out that I really did listen to all those people who've told me to LOOK AHEAD. The problem was, I totally couldn't see where I was going :(

I did, but only 6/10's. It seems that everyone else that went faster was by a second:(

My fastest time was my fifth (cone inclusive!) F'ing cones kept jumping in front of me!

I could have had 2nd in class and 9th overall...of course it would not have counted anyway, so it's just as well!

Hey, run 5 was my ONLY clean run. It took me that long just to learn the stoopid brake points! :p
I don't know if that counts as "going faster" or not.

Nevermind,

I was leading HS all day until Guillermo pulled a run out of his ass on his last run. I knew I had to pull one out of my own ass in return to beat him.

It just so happened, I was having the best, most smooth run I had all day (even throttle modulated that sweeper perfectly with a perfect exit), then boom...pushed it just that tiny little bit to far and looped the damn car 3 gates later. Doh!

Huge props go to Guillermo though for taking the Class win with an Insight!!

Good job yesterday stef I was impressed, it would appear your street tires were more then enough. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong you go from one week being on the heel of the fastest car to the next week being waaaaaaaaaaay off, oh well next event should be really fun and hopefully dry.

I mean Sunday

When I was at the event last Sunday I thought the American drivers name seemed familiar for some reason. I did a quick search on Billy Brooks and I turned up this:

September 08, 2003
Subaru takes Pro street tire classes
News from the Pro Solo 2003 Finale in Topeka, KS.
Billy Brooks takes STS in a 2000 Subaru Impreza RS.

I guess that just goes to show that the quality of driver up here is not bad.

I'd say Luca should be feeling pretty good about his driving Sunday. Same car , same tires, same class, and he posted a quicker time in four runs- which is when Billy and his co driver left the event.

Looks like a trip to Kansas should be on your agenda Luca!!! :)
