I guess I will post this question to Wes;

Don't all competitors have to display the sponsors' stickers on their cars during all of the events?

Given it was our first event on May 2nd, I understand that things weren't entirely in order; However, I noticed there were some competitors with NO stickers on their cars.
I thought this was required.

I thought so too..

Yes, but the non series competitors have nothing to lose if they don't. Unfortunatley we can make non series people run them without having hundreds of them which would be disposed of at the end of the events.

The Series people are supposed to run them!

We are actually still waiting for decals from at least one sponsor, hopefully by the next event.

We can and will exclude series people from results for non compliance..... (take note)

Some people got their stickers on Sunday, but didn't have magnetic material to put them on (no excuse since magnetic material wass available for sale at the event), so I am sure that most people will have them on for the next event.

So these are for sale at every event? Because i do not have any and i am part of the series.. I dident know it was manditory...

Let's hope so Wes. :D

I think there should be an announcement at the next event / driver's meeting, that all series registered ppl MUST have the decals on their cars or they will not be able to run.

Furthermore- the drivers' need to be reminded that these sponsors are the ones who make Solo 2 possible, hence they must be acknowledged (in "STICKER-FORM" ) ;)

**I think this series is a great opportunity for sponsors to get more exposure.... what with the tv crew and all. ;)

sponsors provide decals (stickers) to the competitors to run on the cars these are free for the competitors. the cost comes from Most not wanting to run the decals on the street and so therefore they buy magnetic material and stick the stickers to that and then the stickers are removable.

Ahhh... thanks..

Maybe the competitors need to read the rule book......... It's all outlined there!

just 2 from each series sponsor that provides them. right now the only ones I've seen is the Mad Mac Communications and Graphics ones and the Williams Performance Friction ones.

Not all of us have stickers. I forgot mine at the open house (doh!), but I've never seen any Mobil 1 stickers. I'll be by Williams to pick up some pads today, so I'll grab a couple of theirs.

What ones are we supposed to have? Mobil 1 and Williams of course, but also Mad Macs, BFI, Wheel & Tire Zone, Tsunami, CG Lock, what else?

Is it possible to bring some to the St Lac event?

tanney

Currently we have Williams and Mad Macs. Mobil 1 should be coming....

Phil, when you pick up your tools, I will give you the decals you require.

Since the weather was so.... non cooperative and the confusion of the first event of the year, not to mention the fact that is was a regional and a club series event, the next event should be much smoother for the series point of view.

I apologize if Williams and Mad Macs feel that they have been under "exposed".

Is there anywhere i could pick up the decals before the next event? as well as the magnetic pads?

Ironically, Mad Macs sells magnetic material. Give Perry a call.

I have series decals and will be at the pittl event on Sunday (if it runs, damn hockey) and will try to remember to bring them along.

FYI : The following is from the SOLO II Rules & Regulations Book ( so you don't have to look for it)

**PLACEMENT OF SERIES DECALS AND ASSOCIATED SPONSOR DECALS IS MANDATORY AND CARS NOT PROMINENTLY DISPLAYING THEM MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE**

Competitors benefit from lower entry fees and better prizes while sponsors expect exposure from banners, mention on flyers and results and with decals on the competitors cars. Competitors are required to assist in this partnership, even if they cannot see a personal benefit, by DISPLAYING THEM PROMINENTLY on their car (rather than on the rear window, etc) and assisting organizers to hang any banners. If you are personally sponsored by a company that competes with a series, please try to be professional and give both companies good exposure.

:D

I sell a 24" x36" Piece of 30mil magnetic vinyl for $20. 1 piece can do your numbers, and sponsor decals. If you need any, you can email me at perry@mmcg.com and stop by our office anytime to pick it up. If you need numbers or any graphics for your cars we can do that too.

I have to take some responsibility for this.

The series decals were available at the registration table and i did mention to a few people that they needed to run them and then things just got hectic. I was more concerned with moving people through then if they had the series decals and I do apologize to the series sponsors. This was a major error on my part.

For the next event this is something I will be very aware of, and will make a point of speaking to each competitor about the need for series decals. I am sure that Wes will review it at the drivers briefing as well.

My most sincere apologies to all involved.

Tony

I had to seriously hustle to get my tires installed, numbers and sponsor decals on the car, plus get another course-walk.

In all that, and with the cold rain pissing down, I started to notice there were red stains on my decals, new shirt etc., so of course I thought it was coming from the ink on one of the decals.

Then J.C. (?) noticed the red stuff seemed to be mostly on my hand. In my haste I had sliced through my finger while cutting the magnetic sheet. Because of the cold I guess I never felt a thing.

Hmmm, shedding blood for a sponsor gets some sort of bonus right?

BTW, you can also ask your series sponsors for extra decals when you visit them.

The weather and the fact that most people were trying to tape their stickers to their cars since they hadn't had a chance to put the on magnet yet was most of the reason why there wasn't much visibility of sponsor logos.

I had asked a couple people where there stickers were, most either had them taped inside their heavily tinted quater windows or they had long since fallen off soaked.

The manditory sticker rule will be enforced throughout the season.
