Well, for everyone to start seriously planning the trip to Quebec for the CNAC Nationals this July, I am posting a link to the event details.

CNAC Nationals (http://www.cadl.qc.ca/cnac/menu_e.html)

This may well be the event of the year and it would be great for Ontario to be well represented with the best that we have to offer. I have been told that our friends in Quebec know how to host events....

Now, of course, we should come home with a lot of hardware, but we should let our driving do the talking.:D

???

Another event with a HONDA product on the main page???

I'm there! In fact, I've planned my vacation to start with this weekend.

Looks like fun, but I'm going to have to move a trip to the UK to attend.

Hmmmm a week of boring business meetings or nationals. Hmmmmm don't think it will be too hard to make that decision.;)

I’m really going to have to work on my driving or I may embarrass myself badly.
 :(

The CNAC will serve as the Eastern Championships as well.

But there is still an event in PEI the last weekend of July.

Yes, July 30 - Aug 01 with the first day being a school, I believe. It's always a good event each year, regardless of it's national status. A huge fast course which attracts competitors from all over New England, Quebec, and Ontario. If you have room in your schedule, it's worth the trip. :)

is there a Western Event?

Just a reminder to all of the Ontario people thinking about the Nationals.... The CNAC rule book is available Here (http://www.cadl.qc.ca/cnac/rules/2004CNACRulebook.pdf) and it should be thoroughly reviewed as the CASC-OR rules, although very similar, have a number of small differences.

For a National event there are only 14 pre entries. I mailed mine in 2 weeks ago and not listed yet.
I understand hotel rooms are at a premium, its the start of thier tourist season or something.

lets see a big Ontario representation.

Tony, you should have registered on line! I was listed the next day.

I'll be camping. but they list 2 campsites. Where is everyone staying? The one with the waterslide sounds kool!;)

Regarding rule 4.2.A.ii., where do I get a Solo II license?

gatherer
07-02-2004, 01:35 AM
last year I just paid for a basic license and was all fine... club membership cars worked too but they didn't say that till I was out in red deer... ohhh well live and learn...

tanney
07-02-2004, 08:10 AM
where do I get a Solo II license? The basic license (a Solo and Ice Race license) is available at CASC-OR. THe application is online and you need to send in a copy of your club membership card with payment and (at this point) you may want to make arrangements to drop by the offices and pick it up.

It's something I take for granted as you need one for Solo 1, so I apply for it at the Open House.

I will verify with CAC (formally CNAC) to see if it is indeed required (I do believe it is, but I will check)

Tony Kloosterma
07-02-2004, 08:15 AM
This could be a problem as time is running short, Wes, can you see if these licenses will be available at the event?

Thanks
Tony

I am looking into this.

Steve should be able to get us set up before CAC (if required), we may need to coordinate this so that maybe someone (Me perhaps) can grab them all from CASC-OR and bring them to Quebec.

When I hear back from CAC, I will let you know.

A basic license is indeed required.

I do believe they are $50 available from CASC-OR.

Now before people start complaining that this is another money grab by CASC-OR, it' not. This is a requirement from CAC (formally CNAC) and ASN Canada FIA.

Wes, maybe start a new thread with details of the requirements and the CASC or office etc, i think there will a mad rush.

Just as a "suggestion" to anybody going to Montreal via the 401 way.....

Just on the east side of Cornwall, there's a construction zone. (It's past the road with the US Bridge/Timmies/Sunoco on it)

It drops to an 80 zone, and the O.P.P. loves to sit there. Every time I've been going to Montreal, there's been a cop there.....

Dave,

Dave,

Watch out Subaru 8!

JoeT

It will be the "Subaru 3", rivalries aside let's make this a "Distinct Outing" with Ontario dominating please. We want to Separate those trophies from the podium, and Bloc the onslaught of challengers from the local area.

Concervative lines with Liberal amounts of acceleration will net a Unified message of competition from the Canadian contingency infiltrating La Belle Province.

Let's wave the patriotic flag of Ontario where politicians are as trustworthy as your neighbour (ex-con). Wave the Trillium flag, and basque in the knowledge that Dalton, our friend and banker, is keeping your wallets safe while you're out representing our fine province.

3 cheers for the Gladiators of autosport. We're looking forward to welcoming home the heroes, if you don't drive a scoob, you're an honorary hero.

Good luck guys. Wish I could be there, it's right around the corner from my Wife's home town. It would have been an easy excuse to go, but alas, baby in tummy comes first.

Please report back with your successes.

Two thumbs up.

U da man...

You've got some heavy competition.. Don't under estimate that little 2.2 Litre Subaru. It's been prepped by Lachute, similarly to mine.

In this case, it's a hard decision, but I'll be rooting for Ontario (YOU)...

Should be a great weekend. Slaloming for 3 days , competing with 90 other fast guys from all over Canada and the U.S. , and then returning home to some fine cigars courtesy of the new Dad. :)

I hope everything goes smoothly for you at your event Joe :D

Yes, I have also seen the entry list...
I'm just hoping for some EXTREME heat! I'm talking fire's of hell type heat! All the FSP's are on A032's like me, but most are using the S-compound, versus my H-compound. So I figure, if it's hot enough, their tires will be getting greasy, while mine will just be entering their optimum temperature range...

Thanks for the support! :)

I can't make it either, but Dennis G is supposed to be there, so we know that a '97 AWD Talon is DEFINITELY going to win E/SP by a HUMUNGOUS margin. :p :p :D ...unless he gets re-classed.

on the www.CADL.qc.ca forums Dennis mentioned that he is going.

There is some discussion as to whether his car will fit into SP or if will end up in

I was just looking back on this thread from 2004 and Tony did extremely well against that Talon. Tony was on Toyos, while that monster was on Hoosiers to boot!

I think I smoked him on Sun in a suspensed, naturally aspirated Miata...

Sat... I was not "in race shape"... so to speak... :D

Tony ran 15" Victoracers, 13" Bias Ply Hoosiers and 15" Toyos I think... all within a .10 of eachother.
