I had a conversation with our co-title sponsor, William from William's Performance Friction, and he wants to up the ante a bit.
He asked me if we had trophies or prizes to the top competitors at each event. Of course we have some door prize give aways for each event, but not for competition. So, William has offered a free set of brake pads to the "Top Scoring" competitor at each event.
Pat Yorke was the top scoring competitor for the event, so the first set of pads go to Pat. Congratulations Pat!
The top scoring competitor is usually the person who scored 100 points and has the best back-up time (refer to the rule book on tie breaking....).
A competitor is only eligible to win one set per season.
There will also be two sets given away at each event as door prizes at the end of each competition day (that each competitor entered into the event are eligible to win regardless of how many they have won in the past)
A big thanks to William!

What can I say, I'm a humble guy..... My ftd's are so few and far between (that would be 2 in 106 events), I might as well bask in the light while I can:D

Prise (in french) = Translates to the verb "To take"
So I guess you will take it.

Maybe only one set should be awarded to any one competitor in one season?

Yeah this is really cool. Now I don't have to bother paying for pads ever again. :p :p
Seriously though, I think I might replace my .46u Green Stuffs with .56u (?) Williams well before they expire, especially if my competitors have that kind of advantage.

Wes your hired.
William
While Wes is busy puckering up for the Female winners. You'll need a real driver for the Umbrella girls. I'll be at their mercy taking them from event to event, with rest stops in between. ;)
They too have a hard job to fulfill, and fulfillment is my business. :D

Awww..isn't that lovely - you can hire women to kiss people. What's that called again?
Suzie
PS - Wes - you're assuming everyone is straight...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Straight or not, Wes in a mini-skirt and halter top is still a frightening proposition... :p

Geez, not this issue again!
William, I think having the trophy girls is a good idea. Not every girl can afford to race; or wants to race; or wants to be a lawyer, doctor, etc. Modelling is only a less-noble career if we look down on it.
And giving out prizes is also an excellent idea, since it really sucks to spend so much time and money on the car, place well or win, and have to tell acquaintances that our reward is 'zippo.'
For the record, the driver I most wanted to emulate in my first year of Solo II, because of their smooth driving style, was Jamie K.
