I run Toyo RA1s and this year I had to buy 2 new ones as I had pretty well shagged a pair running Solo2 with 2 drivers. Last year my local Toyo dealer balanced them with stick on weights. They stayed on and balance wasnt a problem . Now this year when I took them in for re and re they used the rim clamp type. Did anyone puncture a tire at Event 1 because I have no idea where the heck they are ? I lost all 4 of these things and I hope I didnt mess anyone up. Im almost sure I lost the first one heat cycling on the 401 ( respecting the speed limit of course ) and the other 3 ,well I hope there in the infield . Whats everyone using ? I dont want to go back to my dealer ( whos a decent guy ) and complain without getting advice from the people who have been doing this alot longer than me .

For any performance driving that stresses the wheel you should always use stick-on weights WITH RACER'S TAPE OVER THEM. Also, they should be mounted on the inside of the rim where the centrifugal force from wheel rotation holds them against the inside surface. This has been common practice since the 1960s - we did the same thing when I raced the MGBs.
