View Full Version : Looking For Vehicles For Extrication Training

BARC-OC are running their annual fire and extrication training session on Saturday, May 7 at Abrams Towing (Keele and Finch area).

We are looking for two competitors who would contribute their time and more importantly allow their race car to be used to improve the training.

We would like to get one GT/sedan and one formula car with full safety equipment in order to practice extrication of a driver in "real world" conditions. This is non-destructive so the cars will not be cut, bent, or otherwise damaged in the process.

The goal is to allow the safety workers to practice the use of backboards etc in the kind of environment (caged, small cockpit openings, etc) that they would encounter if they were getting a driver out of a car in a real incident.

If you'd be prepared to tow your race car to the training site, belt in in full gear, and let the safety workers practice removing you from your car your efforts could benefit all competitors. Expenses would be covered, of course.

If you're interested, please get in touch with us at info@barc-oc.com and let us know.

Thanks for your interest in improving the sport!

PS the holy grail would be a caged race car which is headed for the scrapyard where the extrication tools could be used to spread and cut a cage - if you have one of those, contact us too!
