Working on a possible ride for an OTA event in August. But the car is going into 'limp mode' (won't rev above 1000 RPM) and the 'wrench' light goes on. I can clear the problem by turning the car off and restarting but I want to fix it properly before venturing out onto the track. The web has numerous results for what it might be but I wondered if anyone in our OTA community might have some thoughts. Currently I'm leaning toward a 'throttle position sensor' issue, but that's just my best guess at this point. Thanks!

Kelly,
'Have you put a code reader on it yet?

Son in law has code reader. Gotta get it. Just wondered if any ideas. Will definitely check for codes.

OBDII helps. :)
Three codes - all the 'throttle actuator control system'. One says 'forced idle', 2nd says 'stuck open', 3rd says 'stuck closed'. So is as I suspected. Now to figure out what the fix is.

Is it drive by wire? Sounds like it could be a bad sensor or TB actuator, or connection. I've seen some cars say the TPS on the throttle body is bad when it was just a bad connection (dirty plug).

Yes it is. By the way this is not on my '10 GT. It's a 2007 Mustang 4.0 V6.
I'll be getting it checked out by my mechanic. Just wanted to find out all I could about it first.
