It is with extreme sadness that we've lost a beloved member of our racing community. A true friend to all those who race.
Ralph will be greatly missed. Our thought, love and prayers go out to Jennifer and their entire family.

Obituary of Ralph de Winter

Ralph left us October 5th of heart failure while bicycling in Killbear Provincial Park. Who knew that such a big heart could fail.

He leaves his wife Jennifer who loved him with all her heart, his daughter Emily and her husband Jason who gave him the single greatest joy of his life, his grandson Levi, making him a proud Grandalph; his son Caleb and Caleb’s life partner Danielle who both loved him deeply. It’s Caleb who was the first recipient of his Dad’s trademark hugs. He loved his mother Corrie de Winter who had a very special bond with her son. His brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly, will miss his extra long stories and his love of family.

Ralph lived life large and had no regrets – he will be missed by oh so many because to know him was to have him love you. Life will never be the same without him but we are all better for having known him and we will all honour him by moving on with love.

Friends may be received at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford for visitation on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa St., Bradford on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Bond Head United Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bond Head United Church Accessibility Fund (Please call the funeral home to make a donation to the church) or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Most people know that Daddy did not go anywhere without his backpack. If you would like to share a part of you we will have his backpack open at visitations for small tokens or notes you may wish to leave for him to take with him.

So sad to hear this. Ralph will be missed and my condolences to Jennifer and family. Ralph was such a huge supporter of racing in Ontario, and Canada, his loss will be felt by so many. RIP and Godspeed Ralph.

Sorry to hear this. Way back, Ralph built the chassis for my GT1 Camaro. Decades later it returned to CSC for some additional work by Ralph. He was always helpful and fair. Condolences to Jennifer and family.
