I have a chance to save on some AD08 R's for this season but the Manufactured Date is 3 years ago. Tire Dealer says they are New and have been in storage all that time. I can save around $200 on a set of 4 vs ordering a newer set. Thoughts?

I'd push them for a better deal if you can. I'm sure the tires are fine, just won't be 100%

+1. "how bad do you want these tires out of your stock room?"

Is there a reason you want those tires specifically? Even if recently manufactured, they won't be as fast as other street tire options. They would have to be pretty cheap for me to buy a set of those.

Plus, they're 180TW... and unless the rules changed again, they wouldn't count as street tires.

There were bulletins for previous years allowing the use of AD08Rs and 140tw stamped R1Rs, in recognition of them being sponsor tires and, really, not faster than the RE71R and Rival S anyway.

Thank you to all for your comments. Got some advise at registration to use these. I was also looking at the RE71R's; but was told that that they won't last as long as the AD08 R; I have a full time co-driver this year so I was hoping to get an entire season + out of one set of streets.

Good choice if good deal AND looking for durability over top performance.
