might be tough to do for Solo 1 since we've got over 100 competitors...maybe go with the top 30-40 cars or something like that.

Here's one I made for HADA last year :)

or just the ones who made the minimum of 6 events i.e the number of events used towards the championship. not sure how many that would work out to,

This message is for Dave Pratt.I have e-mailed you at both places a week ago.You are as bad as me for responding.

Could you e-mail me about pricing and setup for this poster.I would like a hugh one so we can include everyone even if it is 100 entries.

Hi William,

Weirdest thing, but I haven't received any e-mails from you. Do you mean a PM on this forum? I don't check for those much. I'll go have a look now. Anyway, I'm no expert but Geo, HADA's resident graphic design artiste and magazine layout guru, should be able to give me an idea on price. Would you like me to get in touch with him or get you his contact info? Montage Graphics is the name of his family's company. They're out in Markham. They've been super kind to HADA over the years, so it would be nice to send them a little business :)

Another great option for a price quote on a Solo 1 poster would be Perry at Mad Macs, particularly since they're a Solo 1 sponsor. Perry's a master at this kind of stuff.

FYI, I don't receive the info@hadamotorsport.com e-mail anymore, so if you want to reach me via e-mail try planetdave "at" mac.com or dpratte "at" sympatico.ca

Sounds great, again, I agree with making it competitors that did at least 6 events.

We will get everyones input on this, but I want everyone included and maybe the winners bigger in the middle with the rest around them.
Everyone wants to see their car in a poster. It is only fair.

115 competitors so far, have made it to at least 1 event.
From those, 41 have made it to 1 event only, and from those, 16 are from LAPS (nothing against them, of course ! just providing the info in case you guys are thinking of a SoloOntario Poster as oposed to a 2004 Williams Performance Series Poster).

Just giving you guys some numbers here.....

The participation in this poster should be limited to those who have attended at least 6 events. The idea is to showcase the cars and their drivers - the format of the 2004 Honda Challenge poster is excellent - we should stick to that.

Why? What's wrong with including every member.

...I think the images might be too small. On the Honda Challenge Poster there are 46 participants shown and the images seem to be a good size. More images = more clutter. You can showcase the Ontario Solo 1 events in the upper border and add the sponser's logos on the bottom. Well anyway, it's just my $0.02 worth... ;)

Over the years Solo 1 has struggled to get and keep competitors coming to events.
I myself have come to 4 or 5 to as low as 1 per year because of numerous reasons. (Cost, sickness, other commitments)
I still remember the first time my club OMSC put a pic of my car in their newsletter.
It made me feel like I was apart of my club and Solo 1 and helped me make up my mind to come out to other events and motorsport.
Don’t under estimate the power of making someone feel welcome.

...well let me put it another way: there isn't enough room for 115 images of individual cars including space for the drivers' names on one poster (to say nothing of sponsors, logos etc.), your nostalgic sentiments for "making someone feel welcome" notwithstanding. There has to be some aesthetic value to the thing or no one will buy it.

Further, out of the 45 participants who only came out to one event (by Anamaria's calculations), how many do you think would actually shell out for such a thing? You have to be realistic... My gut tells me that you'll have a greater chance of selling the posters to the people who participated the most.
;)

Low Rider I have no intention on selling them and you are right about the size so we are looking at a wall poster which is 6ft by 6ft.
I am waiting on a price for this and if it falls around the few thousand mark I will go ahead and print enough just for us guys for free.150 or so posters.

As for the Solo race series I will be talking to Dave Pratt after Nov/04 about the series. We have both been very busy.We will keep you posted.
