One the way home we were hammered by a torrential downpour that slowed the 401 to about 60 KPH and zero visiblity. Thanks to a pothole and the quality oriented folks at Canadian tire, my cargobox broke off my trailer and went hurtling down the road. We couldn't see if it hit anyone so we drove back and forth twice between the 2 nearest exits with the windows down in the pouring rain, hoping to see something. Fortunately, there were no cars in the ditch, and we found the box in the median. Unfortunately, the box and all its contents were virtually vaporized. Not one thing salvageable. Nothing super valuable, but when I total up all the Motul Brake fluid, jack, stopwatch, cordless drill, torque wrench, etc., I'll bet $2-3000 to replace it all. At least no one was hurt.

On a happier note, my undying gratitude to Chris Sorensen for going well beyond the call of duty to bring me new rotors to the track, and loan me a tire after I cut a new Hoosier on my second run. Fortunately my quickest time was done on my own tires, or I would have felt REALLY guilty.

Can't make Shannonville in Sept, so that's it for us. Best of luck to all competitors, and perhaps we'll see you at the November banquet.

Wow! I'm glad to hear that nobody was hurt, but the loss of that equipment must be burning you, still!

Sorry to hear that you won't be at Shannonville. I'll probably catch one day of the two, always look forward to a chat.

If anyone wants a trailer like Bruce's, don't ask him where he got it. Best to source it yourself.

What a bummer. Hope Bev isn't totally turned off Solo by any of this!
