Ok, are they serious? I'm 18 minutes in and I can't believe it!!!

Forgive me Wedge but I can't believe they're actually gonna do what they say to that piece of isht!

Yeah, I'm watching it too.
Believe it or not, if mine hadn't been wrecked, there's a very good chance that that would have been my car on the show.
Now that I'm seeing what they're doing, I'm kinda glad it's not mine!

Edit: Although, they do seem to be doing a pretty good job!

I can't believe they did that much power and suspension work. But the front brakes are still stock!

The body colour is pretty hot though.

Turned out looking pretty good, not sure I'd want to drive it though. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person.

Definately an interesting exercise though..... Toyota truck motor in a paseo? At least it's driving with the right wheels now. <G>

Should be interesting to see in person though......

Yes thats correct.. Toyota 22re engine, rear wheel drive w/ lockable diff for DRIFT competition.

This car is no longer road legal and I think they did a hack job!

My car was actaully in the final 3 for this show and am VERY GLAD it didn't make it.

Although when they try to get my to sign the waiver stating that there is a STRONG possability that this car will no longer be road worthy, I woulda laughed in their face.

I was completely un-impressed with the show and the job on the car.. I mean they made engine mounts from old rear suspension.. Doesn't look safe at all.

Oh and couldn't they find a better engine. Sure it has 160 ft/lbs of tourque but thats at the crank. by the time it gets to the wheels its probably the same amount as the stock seo engine.. :( end maybe even less HP..

I think the car is a write off.

Its not Overhaulin'....they don't have $30K USD to put into a car.

If they did that kind of job to a car that had some value there'd be reason to be upset. But the car was a beater to start with.....

Look at the GOOD cars that they did:

350z
Miata
Evo
STi
etc...

Those cars were NOT hack jobs.

If they did the conversion "the right way" you'd all complain about the wasted money. Instead, they do it the cheap way and you complain.

haha, your comparing apples to oranges.

Paseo compared to an EVO, STI, MIATA and a Z.. Those are good strong cars to begin with. Not to mention AWD/RWD.

Peter still doesn't have the car because they are fixing it. Wonder why... Those donuts that jack did in the end probably fubared everything in the car.

The car looks very unstable, I would feel unsafe watching the thing from the sidelines.

And thats my point, if you don't have the budget to do a proper job, don't bother doing it in the fisrt place. No body wants or to see a half assed job.

The car is now strictly a drift car. I coulda done that! Like I said, half assed job. unimpressed

Overhaulin is 30k just for the paint job.
30k for the Foose 1 off wheels
etc..
etc..
Bet you dont see Foose doing any imports though.

That was a Celica engine those bastards making my old car out to be a truck grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad: Hehe my 85 celica had the same engine. I didn't like the look of the steering arrangement. And I think they could have moved the engine back another two or three inches but maybe that was due to the steering rack.

I never knew they still had Cams for the old 22re not that I would have done that to my old car but interesting, also not playing the music would have made me a little happier I wanted to hear the engine.

Just curious, why is it not road worthy anymore?

It wasn't road legal to begin with. Did you not see the rear end in the thing. I think they did the guy a favour, but I'd put 12 g's in better places.

^^ haha good point..

As for not road worthy anymore - the car has no heater core anymore.. No ability to defrost windows

That's required for a "Safety Inspection" or is it in the HTA???

LOL !
Slam the Paseo if you'ld like but not FWDs as they manage to set FTD at many autocrosses, incase you hadn't noticed.

...when it's low-grip.... or because the FWD cars are prepped nigher than the RWD counterparts....

haha, I would be the last person to be slamming the paseo in general(Notice Sig).. I'm just pointing out that they are completely different platforms.

Your signature was obvious and that is the reason I said you could slam it if you felt that way.

Not that I agree with you.
