Hello to all of you,

(some of you I even raced with in my all black and very stock Civic at the begining of the season, Hi again !)

Last October 16th, Honda and Michelin Canada held the end of the year gal in which plaques, tropheys and prizes were awareded to the 22 eligible drivers.

In total, $55,200 in cash was awarded and more than $20,000 was distributed in credit money and products for a total over $72,000... not bad for a first year !

Here is the amount of money distributed:

1st place: $10,000
2nd place: $7,000
3rd place: $6,000
4th place: $4,000
5th place: $3,250
6th place: $3,000
7th place: $2,500
8th place: $2,250
9th place: $2,100
10th place: $1,900
11th place: $1,700
12th place: $1,600
13th place: $1,500
14th place: $1,400
15th place: $1,200
16th place: $1,000
17th place: $800
18th place: $700
19th place: $600
20th place: $500
21st place: $400
22nd place: $300

On top of that, the rookie of the year cliched $1,500 more. (which I lost by one point... doh !)

In all, the Series Champion, Steven Laporte from Lombardi Racing, walked out that night with close to $14,000... That's what I call extra motivation for next year :-)

That's it for now, time to enjoy the off-season and relax during the week-ends.

That's some prize fund I'll tell you. When looking at campaigning a car this past year, at no time were we told there was a prize fund. It might have made a difference now that I see the size of the awards. But on another note, you'll be needing that cash to replace all the body panels that got caniballized over the last two weekends.
I hope that the officials do something to curb the amount of "pounding" they allowed this year. We'll probably be able to campiagn a car in 2005, but I don't want to have to go back to our sponsor after every race and ask for $2500 to repair the car. Unless I buy 2 cars and keep one as a spare.
Take care in the off season, hope to see you in the spring.

So does this signal a change in your own personal driving philosophy big guy? ;) - and - does it apply to your ice-racing as well? :D

Ha Ha Ha Nick, No my philosophy will remain the same, drive hard, drive smart and go to the front. It must be working, I haven't been called up to see the stewards for any infractions for 2 years now, so I'll continue on this way.

As for the Ice, it's Banzai as usual. If there's a snow bank around the track, then I've got a place to drive on, after all there's too many cars down on the track. By the way I'll be running short wheel base too this year.

Let the games begin!

Well at least I won't have to continuelly pass Perry or punt him in the snow bank to pass but I know others will. Well one speed bump out of the way.
