I copied this from another site and I thought it may be of interest.

Hi Guys and Gals!...its the time of year again! (just in time for the christmas wish list)
Enrollment in the Trac Racing Academy has started. It is a limited space school and our April schools are already booked at 42%!!!

The date: Theory are either monday the 4th or the 11th depending on your week end dates. from 6pm to 9pm.
Practical 2 week ends are available: 9-10 or 16-17 of April from 8:30 to 4:30

What you will learn: All the tools necessary to get a Pro Driving Licence (although most Driver in GT take our school to get their licence, 90% of our students take the school because they feel the need to have the correct basics and pratical experience to take their driving to a higher level both in safety and in control.

The price 450$ plus applicable taxes (75$ discount for all CASC-OR ASN FIA affliated members if prepaid before december 21st ).

You will drive the school with you car (which makes the most sense since you will learn with the same car you get to drive everyday, easier for application) and don't worry, our record is flawless: over 1000 graduates in 8 years, most of the Champions in GT, GTO, 1600, Solo1 and 2 , were students of ours or teachers!... and never has been any serious damage to any students car (outside brakes and 20% of tires treadlife)...

The basics we will cover:
-driving position
-the hands
-heel and toe
-down shift (the right way)
-threshold braking and its subtelties
-how to use your engine to its full potential
-the ideal racing lines
-car control at the limit
-passing (under brakes, acceleration, drafting, etc..)
-physics involved in a (race) car
-mental aspect (the game)
-how to read your car
-race starts simulations
-flags
-security

Our manual is by far the most complete and proffessional in NA.
Our teachers are the best darn team ever! (4-5 student per teacher assure you the right ratio for the best result)

Please call 450-472-0676 ext 303 or send your infos (names, adress, etc) by email at carl@tracracing.com and specify how you want to pay for your school. 2004 was an incredible year for our school...over 300 student (the best crop of talent/discipline we had ever seen, but I'm sure with your involvement 2005 will be better!)

I hope to see a few Ontario buddies our there in 2005.

Is there camping/cheap hotel nearby?

Free camping on site just outside the gates. cheap motel around the corner.
But the real fun is downtown Montreal!!!

We will have a list of motels when you sign up.

Thanks

Where is the track located? i.e. compared to Downtown Montreal, and the south shore?

thanks
Steve

I am 99% in. I'm thinking it might be a little chilly for camping in early April so I'd likely motel it...and I've experienced the Montreal 'nightlife'...if I could only remember the name of that 'gentlemans club'... :)

Chilly in April? You bet! Sleep at a motel...best bet! After a quick stop at 'Les Desses' won't hurt either.

I can double as a tour guide for the weekend too!

Oops , sorry , there was a real question here:rolleyes: Ok, the track is located on rte 148 just north of the 640.

you can Mapquest it..J7R-4K3

It is about 30 minutes north west of downtown Montreal.

A good compromise would be to sleep in Laval...many nice hotels .

It might have some nice hotels, but how is the nightlife?

Where are people staying? I'm liking Montreal myself...

Perhaps we should pick a common motel/hotel somewhere? I hear that you crazy PQ'ers like to burn stuff though so camping might be interesting... :)

Welcome aboard..Tashko and Goni as well as Guillermo and Opal.

It will be pleasure to have you among us.

As far as a hotel is concerned, I know there is one next to the track but no nightlife nearby. The best bet will be in Laval for those who will take it relatively easy.
Downtown is THe place but it may hinder your performance the following day.

I can handle it....but can you guys?

BTW, as far as burning stuff...this is Autodrome St-Eustache and they are as open to bonfires as Sanair may be.

Does this course qualify you for a regional B class licence?

bbqman

The Trac Racing Academy is recognized by the FAQ and the FAQ follows the same guidelines set out by the ASN which is also the governing body for CASC-or.

In Quebec, if you successfully complete this school, you are eligible for a regional license . This license is recognized in Ontario also.

As we speak, I have sent out a school curiculum guide to Gunter so that he also can approve this school and clarify the matter.

Thanks for your interest.

As of today , 15 spaces are left on a total of 110!!!

April 9/10th has still 10 spots open. The April 16/17th date is sold out. If you have an immovable reason that requires the latter date, let me know this week and I may do some juggling.

By Xmas, we will be all sold out.

BTW, thank you very much for the response from our Ontario neighbors. May this be the beginning of many cross border event invitations, both in Solo I and roadracing!

We are ain"t strangers no more!

Theory is mandatory and actually quite useful...don"t worry , you won't fall asleep.
But to accomodate our out-of-town students, we have set up a Friday theory so as not to have to make 2 trips.

Everything has been setup to make things easy. just ask me when you call to sign up , for a friday theory.

Cheers

Carl

GREAT Carl, OK I'll convince the significant other, LOL WIFE, that I need this to be SAFER ;-) which is true!!! and hopefully get my Class B :-) the real agenda.

But early April, MAN forget rain tires and might need SNOW tires!!
We get Rally lessons too in that case? LOL!

Thanks
Steve

In the last 6 years that I have worked this school, there has not been any significant snowfall.
Tires with threads is a good thing...a wet track makes the learning easier. No rally shit going on here, the owner likes his grass too much!

Thank you very much to all the Ontario driving enthusiasts that have signed up for the course.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you in April at the school.

The discount registration date has been extended to Dec 30th in case you missed out.

Cheers
