Years back there was an award for the best prepared car for the season. It was based on the initial prep and how the car was kept and maintained during the season.
How many racers would like to see this reinstated?
Personaly I think It should have gone to TD last season as he kept the 'ol 510 wannabe looking great all season long!

awwwww, thanks, Andy.....I really did try to maintain some decorum with the Corolla last year.
But alas, the corolla suffered a major indiginity last week (Of course it happened after I finished repainting for the upcoming season) in that a large electric motor fell off the dust collector here at work, to which the corolla is parked next to it. From about 30 ft. up this 40 lb motor landed right on the roof and put a major gash and smash and now the roof is all wonky to boot. Of course the electrician here at work was grateful, the car cushioned the fall of the motor and it still works.....only thing that prevented the car from being a write off was the roll bar....
My vote would be for brian rashleigh. I've seen him do patch work and spray paint job after an altercation.....on the tercel...at the track.....TD.

I think it's a great idea. Some people just run what they an get on the track, and that's great. Some of us take a little more time and energy to build a car that will withstand the years of abuse, I think it's a great idea to be rewarded for a job well done and recognized all the effort it takes to build a competitive, safe, durable ice racer.

That pretty car could show up in Grassroots Motorsports publication along with their trophy. Not a bad idea and they can judge the cars.

As the guy that won the award its first year(mine as well-'96)I would love to see it come back.Anyone remember the '83 civic running in rubber painted purple with tinted lexan windows all around, moulded in front and rear valances to replace the grill, headlights and tail lights(even bought stickers to look like headlights)?
If you don't you might remember seeing the bottom of it a couple of times the year after in studs!:o

I'm all for it. Anything that brings up the quality of the cars in the field, usually will bring up the quality of the driving, and thats good for everyone. :)

I'm defintately investing more time into the appearance of my car... Looked at some pics from my first year with the ghetto wooden bumper.. Pressure treated, good for decks, not for bumpers.
Is GRM Canada going to be covering much/all of the action in Minden? To what level/detail? This is good news for folks who are looking for sponsors to help with costs..
