Any update on the addenum to the rulebook for the street stud class? Looking for the finalized version of the chassis prep regulations..

The only addmendment to come out is for the tires and to state that all car prep is to follow the same rules as studded cars. So the rules for the car prep are available now.

Does undercoating ever STINK when it's on fire! Welding in the pads for the cage was a two-person job.

Man....you gotta get all that shit off the car. If you actually do it, it'll save you about 30 lbs!!

i ripped it all outta the rally car before we seam welded and it isn't all that bad. Just beat the bottom of the floor boards with a rubber mallet, and it'll all come off. Or wait till there is a cold night and leave the car outside.

You putting in just a bar? or a full cage??

I want to do a full cage in the ice racer...but man. after throwing about 90 feet of tube in the rally car....it's a pile of work. However i could prolly jump the thing off the grand cayon and survive.

You're right about a full cage being a pile of work.. We've got about five hours into it (enough to satisfy regulations for ice racing)...

With another 5-10 hours we could probably meet CARS spec... It could open up additional uses for the machine during the summer, and the added safety is never a bad thing.

Man....alot more than that. although a basic CARS cage..is well.. Just that. Basic.

TO add in the nice door bars (x's) roof bars.

not to mention that the Lateral roll bars (follow the windshield pillars and roof) are a pain in the ass to bend.

notching and cutting all those tubes so they fit properly takes all the time.

If you got the $$$, and the time. Giver with a full cage....Or atleast something with door bars. The real protection you gain from a cage is the door bars. Just a roll bar isn't going to do that for ya. The real safety aspect i see in street studs is impact protection....roll-over....yeah ok....you not going too quick, you'll end up skittering on the roof for a while, not a big deal. Someone t-boning you at full song....yeah that's gonna get a little interesting.
