I still am confused by the points and classifications.
Im was in DSP last year with these current mods.
-sway bars
-lower tie bars
-strut bars
-coilovers
-falken azina tires
-short shifter
-2 bucket seats
Now if i added these things.
-Williams brake pads
-R compound tires
-cold air intake
-LSD
-clutch
-flywheel
-remove rear seats
will i still stay in DSP? :D
if not then what sould i get rid off to stay in DSP, Or maybe add to get free points?
any thoughts would be greatly apreciated! Im still a noob

You can also download teh 2004 rulebook from here:
http://solo2ontario.com/info/documents/2004solo2rules.pdf
It'll also help you understand other classes and car-prep better I think...
and just because someone else tells you that you're in X class... ont he web... doesn't necissarily make it so...
You need to be 100% confident yourself...

That's not the point...
People need to understand the rules, classing and prep-point system themselves... as opposed to taking others words for it...
If you like this sport... it's not bad reading!
For a S.O.... it's boring as hell!

Thanks guys, I totaly agree that i should know how to class my own car. I guess the question i should have asked was, how do i know what my class is.
i have read the booklet but i still dident understand how the points are tied in with the classes..

pitrov, the book lists what mods cost what pointsin each class.
stock is the most restricted.
ss lets you do a little more
sp is very lenient with mods and mod is wide open.
you have to do a signifigant amount of mods to get out of street preped.

Don't worry,I also do not know the rules and I think Jeff is right. We should know the rule book if we are going to compete.
All the same,I like to thank all the guys that took the time to guide me through my H stock civic.
You guys make Nubies feel very welcome and this is excellent for the sport. Thanks for your guidence and patience.

completely agree with you there!
I have never been really good at reading manuals and rule books. I guess the terms that are used just lose me.
Ill just have to spend more time and study it just the same as for an exam :D
Thanks again for all your help!

sway bars 1 point each
-lower tie bars free
-strut bars free
-coilovers 3 points
-falken azina tires free
-short shifter free
-2 bucket seats 1 point each
Now if i added these things.
-Williams brake pads free
-R compound tires free
-cold air intake free
-LSD free
-clutch free
-flywheel 2 points
-remove rear seats 1 point
10 points in total
put in a fire extinguisher and its 9 points, that leaves you with 6 points to play with

Wow, if you actually get all that stuff installed this year, you're car is going to be fearsome! That car in stock form is really powerful and has outstanding gear ratios. You've already got a great suspension in there. Add the R-comps, LSD, flywheel, and a bit more driver skill, and there may be a new DSP champion in 05!

then don't change the car...
(speaking from last years experience here)
I made small tweeks to the car I competed in throughout the year but those small tweeks were enough to throw off my driving for 1 or 2 events till I got it sorted out...
improve skill before improving car prep.

this year no. I'm getting it ready at the beginning of hte year... buying the tires I need and going for it...
instead of Hanif'ing the hell out of it, I'd be happy just to drive it like a Miata driver did at the HADA shoot out.

:( Hey guys , I guess my very first post was destined to be a question.
I myself will be joining a club real soon and have decided to participate in solo 2 for the year of 2005.
I myself have doubts knowing my car is way overly moddified to start off with , but im optomistic.
Im just really going to put it out their , how competative or should I say difficult is street prep or modified class's?
Again i appologize if this question is a little off the wall but im just trying to plant myself in reality and know what im up against for this year.
P.s this will be my very first year compeating.
In case anybody is wondering I will be driving an 95 eagle talon awd turbo wich has been fairly moddified all around.
Thank you for the comments and any advice.

Don't worry about being fast, just come out and have fun. That's the point of the game anyways.
If you really want to measure yourself agains the others in your class, check the results.

If you're modded like crazy.. It's probably in ESP
Let us know what your mods are and we'll be able to help.
:D Wow esp is pretty crazy and very tight but I welcome the challange and maybe I could play spoiler a few times this year.
Quick question befor I post my modd list , on that link their was TOTAL and NET, does this mean how much the driver won all together for those races they've participated in?
Ok I have a 95 eagle talon awd turbo
upgraded secret spec evo 3 16g turbo with a ss manifold and three inch exhaust
Sheet metal intake manifold
All piping was upgraded.
upgraded ss fuel line's and injectors
two racing bucket seats no back seat
upgraded clutch assembally with a fidenza flywheel
front and rear stb's and sway bars
17/9.5 advan rg rims with 275/40/17 tires
And a prototype suspension system that is yet not available
(it's currently being test fitted and will be in production soon)
Thats all i could think of right now without going into specific details like the rims weigh 18lbs .
But those are pretty much the logistics ,would engine upgrades be counted aswell?

Oh.. The Tony guy that replied above my post, he's your competition.
No worries though, he's a granpa and he drives really really slooooooooowwwwww... If you're as good as you say, it will be a good time watching you two battling it out. Considering that his car is practically stock except for suspension.
LOL

Absolutely! Yes! I've been told that. I do respect most older people, but I consider you more like an "older" brother than a father figure.
I'm not much younger than you.. .Bro.... LOL :D :p
So as an older brother... muahahahahahahahahaha
 omg all I read was champ this and champ that isnt that right Tony.
Well we'll keep our fingers crossed over here at my camp considering wisdom and experience will always over come talent. Talent is only a means of learning technique faster then others but can never compare to actual track knowledge like most of those guys have.
Again I will only be looking to play spoiler for this year and try and steal some points and from the top runners here and their through out all ten races. I have to become more acustomed to my car and it's curve befor I could really be able to duke it out with anybody.
Whats power if it cant be put to the ground ,hopefully if things go my way then I'll be puting it down to all four all summer long.;)
