...to share tire, brake, gas, etc. costs???

Just an inquiry... anyone want to go racing for cheaper?

Holla at a bruvva...

(I'll even consider FWD honduhs... - beggers can't be choosers... :( )

Open to anything... from high-hp RWD beasts... to anemic FWD slugs...

No offence but sharing tire, brake and other consumable costs doesn't really help the car owner-2 drivers will go thru twice as much of everything that the single driver wouldv'e.The season would cost twice as much divided by 2= exactly the same as the owner would spend driving solely.
Not trying to be a s**t disturber, just calls them as I sees them.I do wish you luck with a ride though.

You can try out the corolla for a fun run(solo2) if the option pops up(more like I'm still around after an event-long drives and all).I'd like a miata guy to compare how big a pos my car really is.:)

Fair enough...
ok... let's put it this way...

I'm looking to drive someone else's car... (can't store another car... and don't have a decent tow-vehicle myself...)

...so...

I'll make it worth the car-owner's while to let another schmuck behind the wheel as a co-driver...

We can discuss the logistical and financial details... ALL tire / brake costs... or whatever... flat-rate... whatever... Entry-fees... whatever... hotel-costs... whatever...

Just PM me if you're even remotely interested...

And Mr. 'Rolla... I'd like to drive that copper-top-drifter sometime... Thanks for the offer... we'll see if the right time materializes... (I know you have a hefty drive ahead of you most times...) What about the rear-dif. on that car? I'm not keen on a welded one!

Maybe we can swap rides... (I'm talking about CARS.. OK!!!?)

So you finally ready to take the plunge into Solo1 eh? Cool Bud.

I'm still looking for a car for this spring to compete in Solo 1 and 2 but I will be there this year. (Was looking at a AE86 Corolla GTS for cheap but it didn't come through).

Depending what I come up with, I'd consider sharing costs to ease my burden.

Cheers,

Andre.

No worries about the welded diff, the whole read end is laying on the shop floor waiting for me to decide which 2 way diff I want and where I'm going to buy it from.I had the chassis tuned to the point that the welded diff was fine at speed anyway(very minor understeer at turn-in)just sucked getting turned around and into twisty stage lanes.
There are many improvements happening to the car and it should prove much much quicker than ever-I hope anyways or something is seriously wrong!.:)

Oh yeah,I get a spin in you car in exchange right?:D

Jay - what's wrong with the Miata? It would be a killer GT2 car...

Yeah, what he said!

Why don't you use your car and let ME co-drive...:)
Or are you afraid of something happening.;) C'mon, the odds are in my favour now, your car would be in safe hands.:D

Seriously, your car setup and suspension would work well in Solo1.
If I had my Miata still, I'd be there in a heartbeat...

Cheers,

Andre

stock 1.8L Miata in GT3 = very competitive car

1.8L Miata with suspension work in GT2 = very competitive car

1.8L Miata with suspension and a bit of engine work in GT1 = less competitive car (IMO, since we've never actually seen one compete in GT1)

turbo'ed Miata on race suspension in SGT2 (or higher) = potentially very competitive car (IMO, since again we haven't seen a maximized one yet -- Martin's supercharged Miata wasn't making good use of the PIPs invested and he was a rookie driver).

Miatae in general are fantastic track cars. When I drove Steve Tong's at Cayuga I was amazed how good (very neutral, very easy to rotate with small throttle modulations) it was in stock form. This was his old '99 Special Edition. Damn fine car, if it wasn't so emasculating :p Who am I kidding? I'd race Spec Miata in a heart beat!

Actually... I'm working the miata for another class / series of racing...
I've installed MASSIVE flexible ground effects skirts that touch the surface onve over 180+... I've got a sucker fan... and...

It's now a sealed coupe...
I'm pumping it FULL with helium to make it lighter... (this increases accel, braking and cornering you know!!!! ;) )

I'm also tubbing it out because it'll double as a 7-sec. NOPI drag-car.
I then plan on attempting to qualify it at Le Mans.

So I don't think it'll work with your solo 1 classing, sadly...

Still looking for a ride...

So are you generating this gas in the interior yourself?,I'm thinking you must be because it would have to be added after you were in sealed up!:D

Jay - anything can be classed...

I personally would be very weary of offering my ride to a rookie his/her first time running SOLO1, but that's just me. I'm pretty picky who drives my cars - that and I've seen you drive :D

You've got more than one car - why not slap a set of decent pads/rubber on one of them and run it? Have you done any lapping and if you have, in which car at which tracks?
