We'll be discussing it at the meeting on Wednessday. I'll post an update when I know.

If its clear. Is it ok to run winter tires, or will i destroy them?

Anyone like a co-driver?

I have four cars, two are up for the winter, one has substantial heating issues and another a slipping clutch (and one tire leaking air from somewhere). Apparently it sucks to be me!

Gee Wes, that doesn't sound like my little fleet at all!
HOPEFULLY I'll have the Corolla out by then. I've got everything ready to go, just have to put it back together tomorrow. See you guys there in either case!

I think Ihave to fix a cv joint in my car if I do Wes you can co-drive my beater...

but first I need to find the exact cause of the issue. I think it's the CV joint but I have to jack up the car and have a look

Definatly interested to here what the lot looks like. I heard it was going to go up to 6 degrees on sunday?

Quick question, What kind of tires are best to use? I don't want to kill my winter tires, but my summer tires are no hell in the wet?

And it's a pain in the butt to switch tires for one day then switch them back on the rim afterwards.

Alvin, I will take you up on that offer. Thanks, I have been out of action WAYYYY too long and need a refresher (be easy on me).

I just came from the lot.
There is an excellent base there as well as anywhere from 3-6" of loose snow on top.
There are only two or 3 spots where there is any bare pavement and they are very small.

So yes, I would suggest that R's are appropriate...:D

With 2-3 days of above-freezing temps, that base will turn into a slush-fest once cars get on it.:D

Full depth R's would be the best choice...when's that group buy coming in? :(

Alvin, beauty.... If you've got room and it is indeed above freezing, throw them in and we can use them, if conditions warrant.

Will 13" rims fit on your car? I have a set of two year old well worn Yoks on 13 inch rims I could bring.....

Thanks, eh!

Do you think there's any chance the lot will be clear by Sunday with all the high temps? (could hit double digits and no precip until Monday) I'm thinking of getting my car out for this weekend.

Seriously?

I haven't done any other winter events except for the first one this season. I guess I'll take them out of storage, hopefully the weatherman is right.

OK the lot report I've recieved (I haven't seen it myself) is that there is still full cover on the lot of 1" - 6". But with 6 deg Sat and 8 deg Sunday, my guess is it will be mostly slush with a fairly clean line by the end of the day. Decision on the type of event will be made at the event.

with fog like that today, is the event still on?

Why wouldn't it be? The fog would have to be pretty damn thick to not be able to see 2 cones ahead. Besides they're forcasting it to be clear for the event. WOSCA won't cancel an event until the weather is so bad it's not safe to STAND outside (which has happened once in my 8 years, and we just waited an hour until the lightning passed and the tornado warning was lifted)

yes I've never had so much fun at an event goofing around for a camera in the insight....I'm told G and Opal are laughing about my hummer song (I thought the tape was off when I parked beside a hummer)
