Hey, we've got some cool new sponsors this year. That's always a good thing.
So when are you going reveal the huge surprise regarding the shootout this year?
It's good that the schedule is out, now I can start making plans for the year. Except that I will quickly forget about my plans and end up doing everything at the last minute anyways... :D
Looks like August is going to be one incredibly busy month. We'll be going from the Hada event, to the CAC, to a double header in Ottawa! This year we will definately learn who all the hardcore racers are among us. ;)

Well looks like there arn't enough conflicts with my current schedule to keep me away I'll be there for 8 of the 10 events.
2 questions:
1) is it best 6 of 10?
2) whats the Powell track at Mosport?

Powell Track is the upper half of the DDT.
Toyo is the Shoot-out title sponsor and the shoot-out is on a track, the Powell Track (I was hoping for a brand new track that cars have NEVER been on, but it looks like the track is already booked for that weekend......too bad) I was also trying to coordinate it so that we copuld all take advantage of the big Celebration BBQ at the big track on Saturday, but everything is booked on Saturday (so the big surprise kinda fizzled....)
The final draft of the CAC rule book is in review, I should have the CASC-OR Solo 2 Rule Book in final draft in a week or so for club review (before anyone asks......).
6 out of 10 will score.

Cool!
Doesn't seem to be much conflicting between solo1 & solo2...I think I might need 2sets of shoes for the car this year
:D :D
One question though, the shoot-out is on Monday, Oct. 03?
Of course, depending on how it goes, I may not need to know
...think positive...think positive...you can do it:p
Cheers,
Tashko.

Damn, 3 conflicts with WOSCA series.
I'll second holliko - thanks to Wes and all of the other volunteers who do a lot of work and put up with a lot of hassles so the rest of us can have a blast sliding through cones. Great work guys!

Thanks for asking that Jason. I didn't want to sound dumb ;)
Some of us don't get out to the track very often...
Schedule looks good, no conflicts with any of the other series I'll be running. It's going to be another great year!

whats the Powell track at Mosport? Yes, for the few people that were around before the DDT was built, I guess they would know.
My very first regional Solo 2 event was at Powell track in September of 1999, hosted by BAC. I joined HADA that day, almost got protested, spun out twice and had a blast!:D

Have any of you guys seen the pictures of the new kart track by corner eight in the middle of the oval and the GP track? looks like it will be an intereting course.
I'd like to see the pics. Know where I can find any, Ryan? Ur, I mean Ozzy!

After the issues noted during the 2004 Mosport skid pad Solo II, what do we believe will change?
Also appreciating the early sched......

This year OMSC are having thier event on the DDT.
This is the upper portion of the Kart track.
I firmly believe they will put on a first class show.
I also believe that there will be no marshalling needed as they are using this event to train people in flagging.
If they had suggested using the skid pad again we would have answered with a firm NO.
Lets give them the benefit of the doubt, we did with OMC last year and they put on a superb event.

i was at the club meeting and they are indeed using the upper part of the kart track. it will probably be one of the better events this year - no marshalling! even OMSC club members that are in the regional solo II may not have to marshal.

That's very good to hear. I remember that OMSC events were always very fun and well run. It seems that recently there was a lack on interest in running the regionals except for the poor Christies who also seemed to take alot of the flack for the bad venue that has been the achilie's heel. I think using the track again will make for a great event. I also hope Jeff and his familie are still there. Jeff was always one of my favorite "tour" people (guys I only see when I'm at their club's home regional).

About the OMSC event I think it will be kewl to run on the DDT but just so everyone knows the skid pad has been resurfaced so it is really nice and clean and should be awesome for parking on :D. also the new kart track is far from complete still gravel in most places, I will take another look at it this Saturday.

yeah the re-pavement of the skid pad means there isn't much ability to "skid" anymore the surface is super grip... but needs to be bigger...
iat the solo 1 school it was learned that if you have a thin wheeled jack it will sink into the surface...
