View Full Version : What I learned at WOSCA - Feb 6
1. Winter in Canada is unpredictable. So are parking lot conditions.
2. People always make asses of themselves when there's a camera around (or maybe it's just me?).
3. 2 out of 3 drivers spin an Insight - The less spectacular spinout (http://insightracing.ca/videos/Jason_insight_2005-02-06-spinout.wmv)
4. Nothing is more embarassing than having the marshals head for your car after you spin - to push you out of the snow. :o
5. The replacement cafe is great. A little slow, but good food.
6. Can we get the icy corner of death back? Pretty please?

1. ONE week old snow tires KICK A$$!
2. Apperently I'm good in slop... but it might be the car?
3. It's amazing how one unexpeteced success can get you back on the wagon for a season of autoslalom.
BTW the bike was a green one with orange flames. I don't think I've seen him before. No wheelies, just going very fast in very cold weather.

Heres what I learned:
1. Racing a winter track with above zero temperatures rocks
2. Hankook snow tires have execellant bite
3. Losing your exhaust to a shitty mechanics weld and having to go home early..............................................................SUCKS!!!!
I just wanted to thank Marshall and the other guy(sorry don't know your name yet) for helping me out yesterday, Got the prelude home safe and sound. I was in worse shape than the car, Soaking wet from crawling under it and I sliced my hand on that shitty weld......see above
CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT EVENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran the snows all day long. I didn't bring anything else. It's my firm belief that performance tires will not win at temperatures below 10 deg C. At the temperatures we had in the last two runs I think the hot tire to have would have been a high performance "non-ice" snow tire, or even an open tread all season.
