Sorry I wasn't trying to knock you or your interest. It was more a jab at the contest itself.

Reality is it would cost much much more to get a professional to do it.

I've designed a number of product and company logos in my short existence and even the crappy ones take a fair bit of time. :)

Ultimately my thinking is... someone else can probably do a better job than me, so the risk vs reward isn't high enough.

Now if the prize was a paid season of Solo 1 and Solo 2... well then.. that'd be different.

The one that Jason referred to would be a bad choice (my apologies if it's designer is around, this isn't a personal opinion but rather a professional one) but it's half digitized (or modeled) and half vector based) with a gradient in it. A printers nightmare.

Best you could do is silkscreen it. It would cost a fortune to get put on a business card, same with decalling as you would have to print on vinyl and you can forget about embroidery.

I learned that the hard way. :)

oh i know, i work in design all day.

i'm doing up a few simply because all the casc logos i see for every club out there are NIGHTMARES and stupidly ugly. overly complex.

so, instead of just complaining like most, i'm going to actually do something about it and submit a few entries. 3 hours of my time to come up with 20 ideas wont kill me.

no halftones, 2 colours tops, and they'll look killer.
