I just got a Schroth harness in the mail from HMS Motorsport. In my haste to order it, I didn't notice that I was actually ordering a formula harness as denoted by the 'F' in the model number. So, instead of having a submarine belt that latches into the cam, the bottom belts wrap around the upper belts kind of like a mountain climbing harness...

Is this legal for closed cars, or do I have to get the correct submarine belt?

Unless CASC has a specific rule against the double wrapped style then it's fine. I know a few people who use 6 points for mounting convenience.

That set-up looks like a pain the butt to get into.

It looks similar to most of the formula car harnesses I've used over the years, and i's not all that tough to get into. (I usually buckle mine up without any assistance.)
The two lower straps go on either side of your 'ancillary equipment'. You would have to have the proper holes in the seat, though.
Do they actually have harnesses with a single submarine strap? Ouch! I think that would make me wanna stay off the brake pedal.

Those waist belts do look a bit narrow, though, by the way.

"Ancillary": having a subordinate, subsidiary, or secondary nature
Ahhh, maybe those parts are defined as "ancillary" for you, but some of use may have a different opinion! :)

This is what happens when the ancillary equipment "thinks" for the primary equipment! :p :D

Oh, you can trust me on this one. I've tried letting "#1" take the wheel during competition in the past. Each time, we'd either gone for a gap that wasn't there, or had a coming-together with the wall. 'Nuff said.
Since then, when the helmet goes on, ego becomes the great sin, and Kool & The Gang are merely ballast.
