ive checked the lot on wednesday... it was bad[for me]
10cm snow, with ice on the bottom.
there was some percipitation today, not sure what is it like right now.. so my guess will be that we wont see clear asphalt on sunday. snow or snow + ice at the begining and polished ice by the end :)
hahaahh prepare for the corner of death lol

I'll be there as per usual, i'm guessing that it'll be snow covered with a little bit of an icy surface underneath. Don't think i'll will need to bring the r-comp's again :)

I'll be there this weekend.
Now I'm not promising I'll keep my exhaust on for the whole event but three or four runs would be nice!!!!
Hopefully I can gather the camera interest with my driving this week and not my misfortune.

It went from REALLY deep snow to REALLY slippery ice surprisingly fast. The course was pretty much like lastime except that the top section above the "paddock" was completed blocked in so the usual stop area was a left downhill instead of straight in. Little mini slaloms were put in place by the 1st pole on the uper half to slow us down with all the slick ice underneath.
Some FWD that went offline got stuck and needed a push to get out. But Mike A. redeemed himself from the last event by pulling Craig with roof rack cavalier out of the offline snowbanks with a tow rope and his newly aquired snow tires for the RS.
Jay's WMD almost got stuck around the same spot too, but with a little more ride height than Craig he managed get out on his own steam despite Mike's best efforts to get out there and paint another 2WD car on the side of his drivers door
G went to get lunch and got lost in the moment enjoying his slice of pizza and missed a run :D
Probably the deepest snow we had out there in a while. It was a good event. Too bad you missed out on the fun.

woooooo hoooo hoooo!!!!!!!!!!
I kept my car together and made all six runs!!!!!!
Definatly a different track every time around. By the last runs some of the banks were built up to my windshield.
Gotta love the start box. Nothing like getting a quick start!!!hahaha

Notables:
507,523: In the snow on the first run.
532: That tempo driving on the rim.
561: Not quite stuck, yet.
567: Now it's stuck
639: Mike's happy after getting back into his car.
709-713: This is how icy it was at the end of the day.

awsome pics :)
i pretty much guessed the conditions, and stayed home for that reason. Deep snow would have finished off my weak as it is balljoint, leaving me on the track for a night :)

...let it snow, let it snow...
My first run, I put it in second gear going into the back section, then while I shifted to first, the snow was soo deep that the car came to a stop in a couple of meters!!
I didn't realise how icy it was until I went out to pick up some cones at the end. Almost ended up on my arse a few times!!
Mike A. is now "Mr. Tow"...

Nothing like staring down that 3ft high snow bank, driving into it, clearing your windshield, thanking the car gods that your through and not stuck....... and oh yeah, making the next gate. The excitement of winter events.
Did any one else forget to clear the snow from the inside of your rims and hit the highway. Gotta love driving a ton of bricks!!!
Trying new lines after 3 runs is not as good an idea as it seemed in the pits.

I was able to clean out my alloy rims pretty good with a snow brush, but the ESSO station further south has coin-op high pressure spray washes that do a good job on cleaning out the hard to get at places on steelies.

It didn't seem like I had much snow in them, but noticeable on the highway. Nothing the rumble strips couldn't fix though.

Yea, I drew a lot of stares at the Esso down the road digging out my rims with the handle of my ice scraper. It still wasn't enough and I quickly got off at the next exit and took hwy 2 home.

Should have seen all the cars behind me take cover:p :p :p
It sounds like a Wintery WOSCA as it was meant to be. :D
I couldn't make the event and I was certain that it was going to be a good one. I had other duties that had to be done but in honour of the day I did my travels on the country roads and daydreamed of the slush and fun. Lower Baseline road was interesting with patches of blown snow and lots of sand and gravel in the twisties. I feel slightly better about missing the event but wish I was there.
And Marsh, wasn't it more enjoyable going home the scenic way? To stay alert I usually take a random country route back from the WOSCAs (and TLMCs) and always enjoy it more no matter what the weather.

Thanks for the tow Mike! Or should I call you Mr. Tow?

C'mon to call me the ice queen is a slap in the face of the real ice racers out in Minden..
and I don't like the nickname :(
besides I KNOW I won, its more of a question of how many times over and by how much.
Daniel (Miss Daisy) F. Feel free to co drive my car next time or maybe we'll just swap cars half way and see what's what :o :o
:D :D

Poor guy....
How about "Wosca Ice Queen", is that a better fit? ;)
This is all just my way of saying YOU DONE GOOD. No offence meant by it (to anyone), really.
Besides, from what little bit of "Minden Ice Racing" that I've seen, we're talking about two completely different things. To be honest, I'm not conviced the Minden guys could do any better than you (or any of the other quicker guys) at a wosca "Ice" auto-x.
Very open track vs. very tight parking lot.
Only one way to find out.......
:D
That Pete earned his Ice Queen moniker. he's so fast, so graceful, so cute....:)
