With the sole intention of having fun I am in the process of building a Locost(Super 7 clone).

This lil contraption will most likely be a single seater.

I was told and remember reading somewhere that for a Solo2 car to be eligible, it needs to have 2 seats.

Would I still be allowed to run?

Class wise IF I am allowed I know i'll end up in D-mod or something like that but oh well, I dont care about points or getting the FTD, only showing up at a few events to let the steam off and have fun.

Thanks
Pete

SAE cars run and those are a mod car of some sort... most A mod cars I've seen are single seat...

I'd try to find out if a kart seat would satisfy the regs. I don't expect that they require the passenger seat to be comfortable...

Removing a seat is a point. Technically you can run in any class with only a drivers seat. Though in some classes it may not be your best use of the points.

Being has he's building the car himself, he's already in MOD and there won't be any points at all.

A go-kart seat will be fine. It just has to be securely mounted. Under the current rules you don't even need a shoulder belt (although it's possible that's different for MOD). I lean so far forward when I'm doing Solo I'm ususally not even aware there is a back to my seat.
