CG Lock is AWSOME. I was at Performance World yesterday and tested the CG Lock device in thier booth. It's definatly the way to go without having to use a full harness. It's easy to use easy to install and makes a world of difference when your driving. It gives you the security and feeling of a race harness.

I'll have it in my car on sunday at the Wosca winter event #4. Come over and try it out! You'll definatly want one for the summer events when the events get faster. I'll be in the Prelude #45.

For more info on CG Lock you can visit there website at www.cglockcanada.com

The CG Lock worked awsome!!! On the first run I got a little to excited and somehow twisted the belt, but once I flipped it back there were no problems. The great thing about it is you can keep it slack while your driving in the pits, putting your helmet on and staging, Then you just give the shoulder belt one quick tug and your locked.

Jay: How was the rest of the show?? It's too bad you missed this event, by the last two runs the whole track was just wet pavement.

looking through the pictures I took, I'd have to say the rest of the show was really great.

The CG Lock worked awsome!!!

That's what I said and then pursued them as a series sponsor.

CG-Lock and Solo 2 are a perfect pairing.....

Did you meet Bruce and Doug at the Performance World booth?

Yeah Bruce Doug and John are awsome guys! I sat on the demo chair that they had at the show, and this thing is strong enough to hold you upside down!(dough) Knock on wood I don't pursue this answer on my own. I like my car with the shiny side up!

OK guys, the Solo 1 rules have changed, outlawing 4 and 5 point harnesses without roll over protection. Does the CG lock just keep the lap part tight? Where to buy and how much?

Dave, yes it locks the lap part of the 3-point harness. I used one last year for all my motorsporting needs and loved it!

www.cglockcanada.com is their webpage and cglockcanada@rogers.com is the Canadian Distributer's e-mail. Tell them Solo 2 sent you! (or just say Wes sent you!) Doug is the gentlemen's name and he WILL do you good!

Dave,

Looks like I will have an unused harness.

Wes seemed to be able to lock my stock waist belt like the CG unit does. I remember the Vettes used to have this function.

Clip your belt in and pull the shoulder up to tigten the belt. See if it locks or slips. If it slips get a CG Lock at the open house.

Yes, CG-Lock will have a table at the Open House on April 3rd. You will be able to purchase them there.

Actually guys, I might just run the lap belt portion of my 5 point as well as the regular belt.

BTW has anyone heard of a DOT Schroth 4 point harness that apparently gives way under stress?? I can't figure out how that can work.

Regarding the Schroth harness, one of the shoulder straps has a 1-2" fold stitched into it. If enough stress is applied to that strap, the stitching breaks.

The lee-way in the strap allows the torso to bend a little over the lap belt preventing submarining.

I got the CG-Lock from Wes during the Pro Solo in Ottawa. I love the lock, and use it almost daily. :D

Some of you may recall the hip brace I was in for most of last year. This lock can secure me tight enough in the seat, that I didn't need to wear the hip brace, at least for my daily commute. My chiro was very interested in it for other people like me. :D

What to watch for:
I tend to lose the stupid little tab on the top. It flies somewhere in my car when removing my belt normally between the seats. Other people in my car have had the same issue. :( (I'm likely adding a retrieval chain to it in spring. )

The buckle thing is heavy. I'm usually scared about hitting my window and breaking it if flinging my belt off in a hurry. I've slowed my car exit for my am dash into the office.
