BARC Championship Returns For 2005! - THE CHAMPIONSHIP RACERS WIN!
The 2005 CASC-OR Race Ontario season has just taken on a brand new look. We've changed, tweaked and shuffled some ideas around and now we present the BARC Drivers Championship …
Goals Of The Championship - why are we doing this?
* Encourage membership in BARC
* Encourage participation in RaceOntario championship events
* Reward competitors who race and win against the toughest competition
Championship Prizes - what do you win?
The awards will be presented to the top 10 finishers at the end of the racing season at the BARC BIG BASH December 6, 2005. A total of $4,000 in prize money will be distributed among 11 competitors.
Overall Winner $1,000
Second Place $750
Third Place $500
Fourth Place $300
Fifth Place $200
Sixth To Tenth
$100 Each
Top Rookie $750
Points Structure - how do you win?
The goal of the points structure is to reward drivers for regular competition and for beating more competitors in their class - The more you race, the more people you beat, the more points you get!
* Points are awarded separately in each eligible race for every eligible class (remember this is for individual races, not whole events)
* The number of competitors in a class determines the maximum points you can win in each race (10 entries = 10 points maximum, 3 entries = 3 points maximum)
* The class winner in each race scores the maximum points for the race
* Points decrease by 1 for each lower class position
* Points are calculated based on ALL competitors but awarded only to BARC members
* Standings will be calculated on the best eight of twelve results (but you must have twelve results)
Examples of points scoring are below.
F1200 - 10 Entries GT-C - 5 Entries
Class Positions 10 Points Maximum 5 Points Maximum
1ST 10 Points (BARC Member) 5 Points (BARC Member)
2ND Not A Member - No Points Awarded 4 Points (BARC Member)

4TH 7 Points (BARC Member) Not A Member - No Points Awarded
