Is spring mod free in B-Stock?
Also, I wonder if the following mods will bump me into B-SuperStock:
Software
Cold Air Intake
Shortshift

Frank,
No.. springs would take you up to SuperStock, so would an Intake, so would an ECU change.. dunno about the short shifter.. probably not.
Check the rule book (on www.soloontario.com) it lists what are allowable (free/no point) modifications in each class (Stock, SuperStock and StreetPrepared).
short shifter is allowed in Stock class (allowable mods sections of the new rulebook are 5.10 thru 5.14). The intake is an allowable mod in SuperStock class, the chip will cost you 1 prep point, and the springs cost 3 prep points. Depending on what stock class your car starts in, you could potentially do both the springs and the chip (along with the free upgrade of the intake) as the SuperStock level.
The only major things you can change in Stock class are wheels/tires (r-compounds rule!), shocks (adjustables rule!), and brake pads (Hawks rule!). :)
Cheers,
Dave

thanks guys.
I guess I do have to stay pretty STCOK (suprise!) to be in stock class.
What would happen if I change class (ie from S to SS) in the middle of the season?
if you don't do the minimum 8 events to score max points in a single class your chance of winning that class is obviously greatly reduced, but there's nothing stopping you from switching classes. I personally competed in 3 classes last year, which hurt my standing in any one class but I finished decently overall since points accumulated in ANY class go towards your standing in the Overall ranking.
