VARAC Vintage Festival 2005

The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada is pleased to announce the running of its 26th Annual Vintage Festival, to be held at Mosport International Raceway, June 24 to 26, 2005. Once again BARC-OC officials will be on-hand to support this year’s event and VARAC is graciously thankful for their continued dedication, hard work and for joining in on all the fun!
This year’s feature will be the Monoposto Championship for Formula cars and the first round of the new Am-Can Challenge with the VRG (a fun competition being held this year between Vintage Racer’s Group, an east-coast based Vintage organization and VARAC). There will be races for Monoposto, Sports Racers, Wings and Slicks, Production Sports Cars and of course the usual array of stunning Vintage, Historic and Group 70+ cars. Formula Junior and Formula Vee will also be competing, and don’t forget the special One Hour Enduro/Relay Race, the Sixth Annual Lawn Chair Race as well as a Vintage Car Show for spectators in the infield!
Vintage racing continues to gain popularity in Canada and the U.S. In fact – it’s one of the fastest growing aspects of Motorsports. And make no mistake – this is real racing – as many VARAC members and spectators will attest! VARAC has a realistic, somewhat “grassroots” approach to vintage racing and this is their biggest and proudest event of the year. Fans can get up close and personal with the drivers and their cars. Everyone is accessible and drivers are more than willing to talk about their pride and joy – there are many uncovered historical secrets in the paddock (both drivers and cars!) – so don’t be shy.

This is the premier vintage event of the season and a must for all car enthusiasts.
