Okay, there are some dates. However, I have heard bad things about Dexter events, OMSC web site says it's only half track event, I don't think my car could keep up with Mustangs. :o

omsc is a half-track that day since there's a regional auto-x taking up the top half.

sadly, you cant enroll in both :(

the good: likely even cheaper lapping
the bad: not the whole track

I think you would have to have a ford of some sort to go to the Mustang day, thats how it worked two years ago when I borrowed a Mustand just for that day. There are actually only a handful of people who are fast around there, the rest have fast cars.

You have to have a Ford vehicle to participate in the Mustang day.
Otherwise, I think anything is fair game.

Can anybody supply contact information so I can get info on the Mustang day?

I am wondering about the Lapping Fee? If they would allow an Escort (almost) Race Car? How much track time? and who do I need to contact to sign up?

Any help would be appreciated.

regards,
Patrick

I'd be interested in hearing what bad things you've heard about Dexter days. I've only attended one of them but was thoroughly impressed by the calibre of the organization of the event. It may not be the least expensive event but it certainly isn't populated by some of the yahoos you may encounter at other, less expensive lapping days. If I had the time I'd probably attend at least one this year but like most desires, time is my chief constraint :(

Just that they are stuck up and look down on people that don't drive "real" cars like Porsche, Ferrari or Viper. That isn't what I am looking for.

Having attended 2 Dexter events last year once with the Talon and once with the Rx7 our experience was nothing like what you suggested . We and the cars were not looked down upon by the organizers or participants .
Both events went well and the professionalizm of the organizers was second to none . The driving school was well taught and lots of patience shown to inexperienced drivers .

I am happy to hear that, maybe I will consider it.
