What car(s) do you guys plan on purchasing in the future?
I plan on getting a 2002 Trans Am WS6 or a Firehawk.

Dream: Subaru Impreza WRX

Reality: Drop a B18 in my Civic or buy some sort of 70s boat (Nova, Impala, Torino, Malibu) with a V8 I can mod.

1986 Corvette.

Stripping it to the frame, removing anything not necessary for racing, modifying the suspension and adding a 650hp engine running race gas.

For real.

Hopefully an M3. If not then maybe a used NSX or Esprit.

After purchasing my first car which I don't know already what it will be, I want to buy a Mazda RX-7 serie VI or VII.
In a further look into the future I see a Renault 5 Turbo 2 and a GT 500 or Cuda or maybe both:D and when I nearn enough money a my dream car a Porsche 993 Turbo S. But I still have time and anyway don't know what the future will bring.

Well, my Jetta is getting dangerously close to 400,000km so I'll have to buy another car this summer...thinking something along the lines of early 80s 280zx turbo or late 70s non turbo. Might strip the Jetta and make it into a rally car. That's if I start earning some money soon :)

Oh jeez... I just bought a Japanese car with 130,000 kms on it, so hopefully this isn't a hurdle I'll have to cross for a while. I'm hoping to get five years out of the NX, and after that I'll have a degree in engineering and hopefully a well-paying job. Depending on the state my car's in at that time, I may go for something pretty hot or a classic and just use what I have for daily driving. Assuming the NX holds out, I'd like a '64 1/2 - 67 or '71-73 Mustang, a '67-73 Camaro, an old Z or a 510 for weekend/summer transportation. If I can't find one of the above classics, an LT1 Cambird or an SN95 Mustang would be great. But if my Nissan's worse for wear five years down the road, I'd probably replace it with a '97-on Prelude or a newer 200SX SE-R.

Either Mustang GT(90-93), Eagle Talon TSi AWD(92-94) or Nissan 240SX hatchback(pre '93). Probably going to get it in October, November or *sigh* December. Gonna work my ass off this summer and through out autumn and get a damn car. But first is to fix up the Volvo to showroom condition and sell it to cover atleast half the cost(I saw it going for close to $4K in the classifieds in good condition) of any of those cars. And since winter here lasts 3 days out of the year the drivability isn't sacrificed with RWD and a lot of torque. Can't wait!!

I'm planning on putting a ARE aluminum big-block in the Mod car I'm building. But that's a year or two down the road. I may even compete in the car in ASP with suspension modifications but stock motor for a year, but we'll see.

I want the Rocket to be a road car. Always did. So I guess I have to bite the bullet and build a new ride. :)

I have seen a few big block conversions done in C4 vettes. Too bad you have to modify the hood for it too fit :( make sure to get a manual tranny car , they have the bigger dana axle, the Doug nash 4+3 would get ruined by a big block and from what I have read they can chew through Borg warner T-56's as well,. Try to get an 84 Z51 , rides like a truck , but up until the Z06 it was the best handling vette made, skid pad wise...plus there cheap to boot.

Wouldn't you be in a mod class, not ASP?

Yes, I'm aiming for Mod with that car. However, the first year I will probably drive it without a modified motor, just the stock one with a different cam or something.

I'm planning on making the car a complete race-only car and returning the Rocket to strictly street and One Lap of America duty (in other words, toeing the car in again and decreasing camber to reasonable levels, plus raising the front end and lowering shock damping).

The plan is to run a Jerico road racing transmission going to a Dana rear end, yes. Sequential tranny, baybee!

What year car you looking for?? 96 collectors edition with the LT4 is my fav, but hard to find , We looked for one for a while (year or so) but never came up with anything worth mentioning , most were Automatics and thus had the LT1 in them. you looking for an pre or post 88? 88's the year of the revised suspension , wether or not it's better is the question , Roger Johnson of Solo 2 fame went from his 86 L98 auto to an 88 , the following year he returned to the 86

Totally off topic : Shaman , your a computer guy , I remember you mentioning you monkied with the computer in your car , where is a good place to get a chip burnt??

Thanks

I'm looking for a mid-80s version. One that I can literally tear to pieces in the search for maximum speed. In other words, I want to get it cheap. :)

I intend to completely change the suspension anyway, so it really is of no consequence to me how it's set up as I receive the car.

Agostino Racing (http://www.agostino-racing.com/) does my computer mods. I think they're great. YMMV.

My car will be more or less a new car to drive this year. :)
