I'm having the hardest time finding court shoes to use for driving.
All any of the major stores have in stock are running/basketball/xtraining. And most soccer stores are running low on indoor shoes as that season is winding down.
Does anyone know a good place to find indoor court shoes that I could use for Solo II? Otherwise I'll break down and go for the oldskool Adidas stylee as they seem the closest -- unfortunately they don't have a nice rounded heel.
Preference given to any stores downtown, and anything other than Nike shoes :)

go to any store that specialises in badminton equipment...tell em you want those cheapo white badminton shoes
thinnest soles you can bear :D you swear you're barefoot
and they wrap around your feet like a glove too.

Why not just get the low cut nomex shoe at RacerWholesale for 50$US + 10$ shipping? I ordered mine yesterday. Check it out:

wrestling shoes is a cheap option that are similar in design to a race shoe (offers good pedal feel since they have a thin sole). Of course a real racing shoe will also be fire resistant/retardant, which is a necessity if you ever plan on going regional racing.
guess my rubber shoes would light up pretty good eh?
given that meltdown you had of your ignition wires, I would think you'd be wearing full nomex by now! We may be calling you Adam "Hot Shoe" Hutchinson for more reasons than you think if you keep wearing those petroleum product gardening shoes :D
hey hey hey...that was just a testing phase :) it was just a small burning/melting..guess i had to learn not to put plastic near a 1000deg turbo...
now i am into a full burn down phase...believe me..i keep my eye on that machine...with a 500lb/hr fuel pump...6 injectors..and 4 nos injectors...and more wretched wires than you can shake a stick at...fire is a concern...and i am not sure that little 2.5lb extingusher will do much...i will be out of that beast 1st sign of smoke...
1st time i had it out on 410..i was going about 150kph...and then all of a sudden all this smoke appears...i thought shiiiit..here we go first time out..and i am gonna lose the car...so i pull over not being able to see..and grab the extinguisher..and pop the hood..... whoah..its only steam....
the main rad hose came apart and shot coolent all over the hot manifold...what a smoke show that was...scary
anyway..so far in solo 1 ..i don't think there has been a burn out yet?...has there?
anyway...my little green italian garden shoes sure are nice for driving in...

Yup, we've had a fire last year. It wasn't a big burn out but it was enough. We had a rollover on Fabi and when the car landed the timing chain cut through some bits and oil spilled out causing a fire to break out. Good thing the marshalls were on their toes.

Update: Finally found some. Although it wasn't at a sports store .. those are all pretty much closed when I finish work so I went to the trendy shoe stores on Queen St.
Puma Aquilla Indoor.
Surprisingly close in design to the Speed Cats which no one keeps in stock.

Mine are navy blue suede though .. that's all they had :o
I think I will go test them out...
