View Full Version : Highest milage on a competitive car?

I was wondering who might have the highest milage on a car in which is currently competing. Please state of you've had the engine rebuilt. My 90 GT currently has 290,000km with the original engine and no rebuilds.
I think Wes has something like 330 000 km on the multi-coloured Civic.
My Mirage (3rd in FSS last year) had 175 000 miles (about 280 000 km) on the clock and has been running for years on 3.5 cyls due to a burned exhaust valve.
(My Corolla just passed 153 000 km - it's not even broken in yet!)

edit: wait, did you say competitive car, or car that's merely competing? :D
The cavalier we won at the TLMC shootout has over 400k.

253,000 on the Prelude before it blew-up. Not as high as the Civic, BUT the Prelude only had 23,000 when I started doing solo-2.

Average lifetime mileage of 4.0 Liters/100 Km over the last 117,000 km.
Oh sorry, wrong type of high mileage... :p

What do you get at Mosport Grand Prix?
i have way past 300k on my NA 240sx, though the odometer is dead now...i think the engine is on its last leg as well :)

BAsed on the smells radiating from your car while sitting behind you on the grid, I have to agree.....

I think mine has over 330K on it.
New tranny though and the engine was rebuilt not so long ago.
Oh and my Civic has over 300 on it too, though most of the important bits are pretty fresh.

Tashko's Talone TSi is over 300k, IIRC. Amsoil. ;)

398,000kms on the scirocco and counting. that would explain the nice light constant trail of blue smoke coming from the tailpipe on every run. Already accumulating the engine budget for this winter. keeping our fingers crossed that the trail doesn't become a cloud before the end of the season. doh!

Yeah, I think I'm around 335k at the moment. I can't remember, haven't seen my baby for 4 weeks now. She's at Discovery Auto getting all cleaned up. Looking forward to a car with no (visible) rust!!
I had to change the original turbo @ 260k and the tranny was rebuilt ages ago (all Talon trans. suck).
Maybe I'll do a compression test when I get back next week and see just how far I am from a rebuild. Then again, isn't that what the boost knob is for? :D
I bought the car @ 107k back in '97 and have been using CanTire 10w30 synth until last year. Synthetic is the only way to go!
Marsh's 'lude had a hard life. Not to sidetrack the thread but, too bad about the baffled oil pan rule! Who knows how long that car could've run living a solo2 life.
See you guys at TAC!
btw, whats IIRC?
oh yeah. Just curious if my car puffs blue smoke during a run, anyone notice?

If I remember correctly. :)
I don't remember SEEING any smoke, but I've only seen you run a couple times.
